( That's "goodmorning" in the plural and pronounced 'kal e mEr ah sas' with a stress on that middle E )
I saw a book on the internet yesterday which I must buy when I get home. It was written by an English journo who works for a paper in Athens and appears to be a wry look at the Greek language and culture. It's called "Learn Greek in 25 years" and each chapter is a lesson which ends with a helpful table of "words I really must learn though I know I won't". Chapter 1 opens with `Welcome to Greek! You haven't a chance'. After a couple of years of trying Greek I can see the truth in all that!!!
