It gets very cold in the mountains in Winter and snow is a real possibility. We tried out a mountain village a few years ago when looking for somewhere for our Winter stays and whilst the area was beautiful we felt it would likely be as cold as Ireland during Winter nights so decided against it. Where we are staying we didn't even see frost last Winter.

Funny day today - I didn't get up until midday and now its dark! Dinner tonight is chicken and ? pie. The filling (home-made) found in the recent freezer clearance. Its chicken and something green. I'm making rough-puff pastry to go on top.

Of course this is Cyprus rather than Greece and one has to remember that Cyprus only got independence from the U.K. in the 1960's so the British influence can still be seen in some parts of life.
