I know what you mean I think I dislike intense heat as much as intense cold! Is your apartment/house air conditioned?
Yes, we have AC units in the apartment. The units can also provide heat if required on a winters night - in Dec/Jan the nights can feel nearly as bad as back home although the windchill isn't as bad because the winds are mostly light.

Thursday is always black to me. Friday a lovely bright yellow. Oh... the curse of synesthesia!* Sleep well everyone.

*anyone else here have it?
What an interesting post. All my life I have noticed what I thought was an unusual phenomenon but never knew it had a name as I just thought it was something created by the invocation of happy childhood experiences. With me days of the week have a particular smell. I don't know if my oddity is the same thing or not but I amuse myself and Mrs B with it. Mrs B has almost completely lost her ability to remember in an organized, or any, way so several times every day will ask me what day it is and I just sniff the air and say "it smells like Saturday" or whatever. I suppose it helps that I know what day it is, but the days, and other things, do have smells as far as I'm concerned.

I do and Thursday is definitely a russet colour and Friday is like a Dark Charcoal colour.
Synesthesia not a curse a positive asset. Much easier to learn things when there is a colour associated with it. I have no idea how people who don't have it, cope.
1 in 24 people have Synesthesia in one form or another, which means that 23 out of 24 people are just weird.

Yes - what you have is a form of synaesthesia. The smell one is more unusual. Its not childhood evocation (although that may play a part in determining the smells, colours) its to do with our brains which are wired differently to other people! There are medical studies of it if you look it up. The difference between 'association' and synaesthesia is that we synaesthetes can't detach the sensation of smell or colour (or in some cases patterns and shapes) from the word. The sensation is just 'there'. I'm assuming its not just days of the week in your case. I have colours for every word! And they never change. Some have musical synaesthesia (my youngest son has this as well as word/colour).

Interestingly, it can be inherited. I asked my Mum a while ago and she said, yes she had always had it! Yet we had never mentioned it! My sister too has it (and sees shapes as well) and all my children have it. If you try to explain it to anyone who doesn't have it then they just don't understand!

I agree its not really a curse. Although my son finds it literally unbearable to listen to some kinds of music because it produces such vivid patterns and colours.

Wow; I haven't been in here for a few weeks and missed the kerfuffle.
FWIW I think the regular teafolks have every right to feel aggrieved. Why are the same limitations not being imposed on some of those God awful threads on SCP which are basically a boxing ring for the same old contributors? The same old contributors who claim to be holding down high powered jobs and running the country, while constantly posting boring argumentative drivel on a cycling forum.
It's not a good way to operate, IMHO, and has already caused at least 2 regular contributors to the forum to go elsewhere.
If it's for some technical reason, then fair enough but an explanation wouldn't go amiss. And consistency across the other boards would be good, too.

(1, or is it 9?) but no danger of getting to my limit .
