Yeah, yeah yeah...That's Αχιλλεύς (Achilles), he's a really nice bloke we've known for years. He was actually pulling me into the photograph which is why I'm leaning to one side - I'd been more interested in supping my Guinness.![]()

Been for my usual 2hr+ hike this afternoon while Mrs B went to the shops. I then watched the fashion show while I made us a cup of teaGood afternoon Tea people. What's in store today? My plan is to saunter down to the Asian supermarket to stock up on spices (much cheaper there - plus you can get one's that Tesco et al don't sell).

Later it's dinner at a local taverna where they have Greek only karaoke after the meals have been served, where we'll stay for a couple of hours before heading to a bar where the Cypriots gather for mainly Greek karaoke, which will take us through to the early hours of Sunday. Might make it to bed by about 4am.
Another interesting fact about Greek is how they write the time. What is 'am' to us is 'pm' to them and what is 'pm' to us is 'mm' to them!! If anybody wants to know why just let me know and I'll explain.![]()
I'll spell in my own phonetics for ease. The Greek word for 'noon' is mesimeri; the word for 'before' is 'preen'; and the word for 'after' is meta. So, their PM means before noon(preen toh mesimeri) and their MM means after noon (meta toh mesimeri). Why ?
When you put it like that, I suppose it is. Stick to the 24 hour clock, confuse them!I'll spell in my own phonetics for ease.
