It was this. My friend here in Saffron Walden had a film being shown as part of the event. Anyway... we missed it.

Been very busy recently working for the Refugee Response Coalition locally. Wrote a piece that will appear in the local newspaper. Also received word that we'll be receiving our first Syrian family in the coming fortnight. My piece details the plans and preparation that committee has been doing, and the work they'll be doing during the first few days after their arrival.

Proud to be a part of something bigger than myself. Hopefully they'll find peace and security here, In'sh'Allah.

Rewarding work indeed. Back in the day my brother spent a few summers opening his house to Russian kids from the Chernobyl area and I know he and his family brought happiness to many and enjoyed the experience.
