Plans went a bit a-wry in Rye. ^_^ Restaurant was booked up so ended up eating in the George which turned t to be OK. Lots of oysters consumed. The film was very funny. Better than I expected. Silly of course... but that's the point.

There, or where you are now?

If it's the latter, get someone to drive you round for the afternoon in car with blacked out rear windows. Be much cheaper.

Funny thing about the cost of Cyprus is that we are, in a creative accounting way, saving money by going for a few months.

Last year was the first of our long trips and it started after our youngest graduated and we were no longer funding him so the money saved paid for the rent and airfares. This meant that we no longer had to save for our annual holidays. Once there the cost of living is a bit less and we aren't paying winter heating bills. Overall we triple/quadruple the holiday period but have more disposable cash. It's :sun: and :biggrin: all the way.

Above and beyond that we have a much better quality of life during the winter and that alone is worth the money. Given our age, I look upon it as being in the departure lounge of life with the flight to our final destination on a very long delay while we have a great time in duty free!

We started going for the winter last year because the trip started after our youngest graduated and we were no longer funding him so the money saved paid for the rent and airfares. So you're Tom Hanks then?

Other than that, go for it.

We both enjoyed that movie. Funny thing, a lady and her daughter were doing that kind of thing in Larnaca airport when we were last on the island. If I remember correctly they were German and not without funds but wouldn't leave the airport and wouldn't explain what their issues were. I don't know how that one panned out.
