Right,I got you now .
I did 4 years of night shift and it was a killer.:tired:
My weekends began to feel like any other day of the week.

Night shifts are very bad news. My partner retired a month and a half ago and is still not settled into any kind of normal sleep pattern. He wasn't doing nights, but 'earlies' - having to get up at 4 am. I'm so lucky. I go to bed at 1 am (or so) and get up at 10 am (or so). And then I can do more or less what I wish. Retirement is wonderful! Sometimes I wake up in the night but I have strategies for getting back to sleep. - mainly working out recipes and menus in my head.

As most of the last 20 years has involved transport for supermarkets, either as driver or transport manager, I have never done a 'normal' shift pattern.
I was on 03:00 starts for 7 years, then 04:00/06:00 for 5 years.
As manager, I was on rotating 8 hour shifts, earlies, lates and nights, then 4on4off alternating day and night 12 hour shifts, 06:00 or 18:00 starts.
I now do 'lates' 13:30 to 15:00 start times and rarely have to set my alarm clock.

And, as to celebrate an early finish today, I'm having a glass of wine and a Hot cross Bun..
