Good Night
SithiGood Night
There was plenty of singing. There's always plenty of singing. I wouldn't go to a bar to just drink as it's the singing I prefer.and some singing?

It is said that even with dementia, singing remains hard-wired. It gives me consolation! There was plenty of singing. There's always plenty of singing. I wouldn't go to a bar to just drink as it's the singing I prefer.![]()

I understand the attitude to karaoke. In some bars the singing can be dreadful. Over the years I have found that certain bars attract the better singers and have the better equipment which is why we frequent one particular bar most of the time. Of course, with me it isn't just about the singing as we frequent a bar where the customers are almost exclusively Greek Cypriots so I pick up a bit of the language through the songs. Most nights we are in the pub we are the only non GC people there and we feel a genuine affection from the people as they have taken the Greek singing Irish to their hearts. It is said that even with dementia, singing remains hard-wired. My partner who is recently retired loves to sing. I keep trying to persuade him to join a choir or something. Karaoki is not something he likes - so that wouldn't work. He likes to sing in a group, I think (harmonising and all that). There aren't that many opportunities to sing in a group really - except for church choirs, which doesn't suit everyone.

The area had a light shower this morning while I was still in bed but, yes, the sun has got his hat on once again. It's not as warm or as clear a sky as yesterday though. If I recall the temperature for much of Dec 2015 was 16 - 20c and it seems to be heading that way now. To us it's very pleasant as we are more active when it isn't too hot. I'm still wearing shorts when out during the day, as are plenty of others. Are you going to do the weather report next @Blue just to depress me more
After 60 miles in almost early spring conditions yesterday my other day off today is pouring rain.
09:30 got the lights on here and it's so dark![]()
Of course, this reminds us of why we don't move here full time - we couldn't deal with the temperatures the full time residents endure during the Summer.Well in the words of the song, "Sing Irishmen, sing. Let the sound of your voices ring."There was plenty of singing. There's always plenty of singing. I wouldn't go to a bar to just drink as it's the singing I prefer.![]()
