Our youngest asked me if I would give him one of my bikes yesterday. As I haven't used my winter bike for a few years I said he could have that. As he got on the bike to try it the crud catcher snapped - I suppose a few years of sitting about had made it brittle. It was funny watching it fly across the drive.

Mine's flew off as I was descending.
I didn't know what had come off so a quick stop and check,
back up the hill and there it was.
It had just given up, I think.

I'll nip to Halfords and get another,
the mess of the back of my top today let's say was coated.
I'm thinking of one of the Topeak seat post rack thingies as I miss being able to carry my binocs etc on some outs as I won't have it on permanently, I've a pannier rack but sheared a bolt and had to drill it out, either I tap a new thread or use a p clip but I like the easiness of the seat post rack.

I'm back!

I've had a week in Asturias in northern Spain, where our youngest daughter lives. We had an absolutely wonderful time, and whilst we were there we had a ....."mum, dad, we've got something to tell you"........moment. Yep, she's getting married. Magic. He's a lovely bloke. It rather diverted attention from the wonderful scenery and food, and the cider.

Good morning. Another early riser here.

Just been out putting the bin out and it is a lot fresher out. Only around 7 degrees..........feels almost chilly compared to a few days ago. I am half way through a cup of tea then I think I'll head across to dads. Hopefully time it right for porridge making again.

Time to get out a machete and try to find my way across the garden. A week away at this time of year gives the sun and rain the chance to turn things into a tropical rain forest. Then, it's drain-laying. Fun fun.......
