Why do two trains, running in opposite directions(But not at the same time), take to different times to cover the same distance?

Different calling patterns?

Morning. Yep. House hasn't cooled down overnight and we are in for another roaster with very little breeze. Just heading out for my wander while it's still relatively cool.
