Yes I saw that at the time, and as one of the lads at work said how much is he on per goal as a bonus?
So far he has scored 3 which included 2 the other night. That was their first win in 3 games, only got 4 points so far. Pressure must be on for the manager with all the money around that club. Whilst the class of 92 are big investors the real biggie is the guy that owns Valencia. Think he is from Singapore.
Actually my local lot play 4 levels down from there I have found out what some of the guys get and whilst its not to be scoffed at a couple of levels higher and if they are part time when you add that to normal employment it can put you on a some pretty decent money.

The Rooney thing really shocked me when as you said how do a non league English club entice a guy playing for a Scottish Premier club who also had European football waiting.
It's not uncommon at level 2 to hear of players on a 4 figure sum and I can think of a couple that I have heard about and they are part time as opposed to most of the National League Prem clubs that are now full time.
It's great at the level I watch where you get to know the lads that play and know they play for the right reasons. They play because they love playing and there isn't any of this play acting, the tackles are hard and they get on with it.
You respect them. I even sponsor one of the lads with his shirt. It's nice when they aren't up their a###s.
