I usually just leave one attached to the saddle bag in case it gets misty or gloomy when I’m out.

I was close to walking at one point today for the first time since I started. Maybe just a bad day, but I’ve slowed down a lot compared to 4 or 5 years ago.

I got told to try something I hadn't done before yesterday so off to a steep climb (for me) then a drop down then off straight up another one, my legs felt it today so maybe better I'd a day off today.
I'm between 600 and 700 miles down on last years total
but there are reasons for most of the missed time.

I can tell by the top of the first short climb less than a mile from home what my day is going to be like..
a day or two break does help...
