Good morning. We were supposed to go to an appointment today, but Beautiful Daughter has a fever. It's not serious but she can't go to Kindergarten and we'll have to cancel.

I'm going into work so I can arrange another day off at a later date.

Fair enough too...

I need to up the ante, obviously, as paper carrying wasn't sufficient. Unfortunately that method won't work because I already carry a tape measure at work, and two folding rulers. (because if you carry one someone always 'borrows' it)
