Same company down here averages a 20 minute delay. That'll take some beating.

Talk last year of just booting them...
First (who had the previous contract) were doing a sterling job but the tender from Abellio was much lower..
but already down south companies have just walked away...
Scottish Government was considering nationalising again but I think the UK Government have the final say, more likely one of the 24 powers they took from the SG..
without getting too political on our fun thread, what they took away was frightening...

Anyway let's get back to getting

I can't remember if it 20 or 21 the contract is up..
CalMac are reputed to be looking at putting a bid in..(rumour has it, encouraged)
We had a massively popular over 50s offer, about four times a year, they'd throw out an off-peak £10 ticket anywhere in Scotland which helped fill trains during the weekdays, Abellio stopped and introduced a free first year over 55 ticket, second year if you renewed you got a £1 anywhere off peak...and a free beverage and cake if on a trolley train but now no decent freebies, it bombed in the third year....lack of any decent offers to cover the cost ( you do get a % off off peak travel), folk were looking for the previous successful system....
