G'day folks :hello:

After a bitterly cold day yesterday, we awoke to a good covering of snow this morning. Everything had melted by about noon, but we keep getting heavy flurries of the white stuff.

All the prep work is complete in the bathroom and tomorrow the installation starts. We are having a few changes to the layout etc so it'll be another week before we're good to go. Still, that'll be the 2nd of the disruptive jobs out of the way when it's finished.

The kitchen will be the last of the really disruptive jobs, but we don't yet have a date for that to start.

I'll be glad when everything has been done and we can move on to the easier things like furniture etc.

Autumn could be right..
We had light snow flurries around lunchtime....
nothing to get excited about...
Still breezy though so catching up with more cards:sad:
Baseball just now..
some gardening chores
Keeps on try here. Tries overnight it might even look as though it wer' serious about it.

Don't be sad, don't be blue
Each card done, is one less to do.

Your side winning?

The fabled base for the garden shed!

Ayup

No pictures of the snow!

Toilet no longer the first thing you see when you open the door?

Have a way of making a cuppa, at least, whilst the kitchen is being done.

What killed the cat question.
What you been doing with all the now empty boxes?

With the way the door opens, the toilet will probably be the first thing seen as one enters the room. However, if the door is open, as one is just walking down to the bedrooms the pedestal and mirror will become what will be seen.

The kitchen will be major disruption so I don't think we'll be making much, if anything, in there for a while. I'll worry about that at the time - we don't even have a start date yet.

What empty boxes? Seriously, I only emptied the bare essentials as I thought it was pointless to unpack when so much work was to be done. Given the amount of dust and debris kicked up so far, I think that was a good call. The boxes we did empty went into the attic as my son is making noises about getting himself an apartment so he can have the empties - I suppose they'll have been good enough value if they cover 2 house moves.

Well, that was a trip down memory lane - we don't have a shower at the moment so I had to have a bath, and take care not to splash too much, after my turbo session. We only have the bath for 1 more day, then it's a kitchen sink job until the shower is in and the tiles are finished.

Pity it's not the middle of Summer - I could just use the garden hose!

Odd getting into a bath that has water in it, in't it.
Cast iron or plastic, the former could take you further down Memory Lane, place it in front of the living room fire one night.
It's a bit bigger than a tin bath, but the memories it could bring back.

Just hope you're not caught with your trousers down, once it's complete.

No kettle to boil water for a cuppa!
Now that's serious.

At least I know what you've done with your empties. In the attic awaiting further use.

The bath is cast iron and I won't be trying to carry it around the house!

I'm still expecting a trip down memory lane in the time between the bath going and the shower becoming operational - but I can't say I'm looking forward to it!!

Never said it would be as easy as the old tin bath. More room though.
You could always get those replacing it to put it there, for one last time.
The wash at the sink!

Half the time they just break them up to get them them out.

'Morning folks :hello:

Well, the snow has gone and it's a mild day today. Just as well that the weathers improved as one the bedroom windows is out and the new frame is in. The WC and pedestal are out of the bathroom. The place looks and sounds like a building site!

The plumber said the seal on the WC was completely perished and he didn't know how it wasn't leaking so the job is just being done in time!

I have to say that the guys are great as they just get stuck in. When I had a new bathroom and gas heating put in to the old apartment the guys were only on site 1/2 the day due to turning up late, leaving early and disappearing during the day.

I'll be glad when I get to this time next week though as Mrs B's Day Care centre has been closed due to staff shortages and then Easter so it's been hectic for me. Roll on a quiet time, until the next upheaval(kitchen)!!

Snow gone, seal on the toilet gone, bathroom gone, one of your windows gone. You seem to losing a lot today.

You'll look back at this period later and say to yourself "Did we do all that!", whilst wondering where the time went.

Stick with it.
And if that doesn't help, just burst out into song. That'll get them wondering if nothing else.

As somebody said to me back in December, "At least you don't have anything better to do while everything is in lockdown". I just hope that things speed up a bit so that we are in a better state before we get to the middle, or late, Summer.

The 2 bedroom windows are in and the guy will be back tomorrow to do the kitchen door/window. The bathroom is the killer as the guy seems to be hitting snags in relation to the new set-up. He tells me he'll just keep going until we have an operating WC and pedestal, but I think he may be being optimistic and have visions of having to pee in the bath tonight!!

T'weren't me! I've just checked.

Have faith in his words and you may not have to use the bath!

Good to hear you're Windows are back in. Reporting them stolen might have been tricky, if you woke up in the middle of the night wondering why it was windy inside.

You'll get there.
