I got this one after seeing a 'Which' report, which said it did the full boil - I hope they were right!

We are now busy clearing cupboards in the kitchen - just got a call to say the guys will arrive at 7:30am tomorrow to rip the old kitchen out so the new installation can start on Monday. Good grief, it's all kicking off - I hope we survive!!:wacko:
Hopefully...

Keep your eyes on the food use by dates, just in case they discover anything that had been left behind and you missed.
They'll not be working Friday then.

And no complaints, you were wanting it over and done with. I think their ears must have been burning. That or one of the cats talked!

A "stay warm" function is one advantage of a pan on the cooker: it heats the kitchen so I stay warm.

BTW Thanks for supporting a local company.
Doesn't the cooker help there as well?

Still think your kettle should have had a Viking funeral, not end up being taken to a recycling site.

Oh, no complaints - although it means the upheaval continues. I hope that they do work on Friday/Saturday as the boss did say that it was a 1.5 week job so that would take them to the following week-end if they work Thurs/Fri/Sat. A good aspect is that they will have easy access to the external kitchen door so we can just close the internal door and let them crack on.

We are having the bathroom and kitchen done by the same business and I bent the ear of the boss when he checked in on the bathroom last week - that must have worked because he was non committal last week. Anyway, I'm happy because that will be the worst of the jobs all over and we can move on to the minor building maintenance and decorating aspects.

Since my last message, we've been to Belfast and had our 2nd jabs - happy days. No traffic issues this time and the weather was lovely so the drive over the Craigantlet Hills was enjoyable with views to the Mournes.

Might just be ripping the kitchen out at the same time as they're finishing the bathroom to save time(and money) getting rid of the waste. Assuming it's similar to over here, booking slots at the local recycling centres. One trip instead of two or more.

You avoided the bus lanes this time.

I wouldn't doubt that you are correct about the waste issue but I hope they do a bit more. It's a big prepping job so they may take more than a day at that. It was all a bit manic earlier but I think the boss did say that the new install would start on Monday.

Yes, no bus lanes on the scenic route(it's shorter too).

If they're tearing out the old one and getting it ready for the new one to go in, it might explain why they're starting tomorrow. It allows time for stuff, plaster/wood, time to dry out. Making it easier to put the new one in.

Local recycling centre has a wait of up to two hours, even with the booking system. If they can cut the waiting time, they'll have time for working.

Who gets to test the new shower first though?

Oh, I'll be first in the shower. After Thurs & Fri at Day Care Mrs B is always too tired for anything other that sitting in front of the TV:laugh:

'Morning folks :hello::sun:

Good grief, what a morning. Trying to have a :cuppa: at the moment.

The handle on the living room door broke so I couldn't get out. I was able to get Mrs B out of bed so that she could let me out! I took the inner half off the handle of the box-room and fixed the living room handle with that! The kitchen guys then arrived early and got stuck in. The plumber has just arrived and I'm having to deal with Mrs B now!! C y'all

Owdo

You were lucky there was someone else in. Can you imagine having the builders let you out! All you'd have needed was for "Please Release Me" to have started playing on the radio, and it'd have been complete.
New door handles required now methinks.

See you when we see you...

We could start on something else. Any ideas.

You mean 3' by 2' cooncil slabs?
Join the replacement slab next time, having put your hydration materials nearby beforehand.
A call to the SSPCB maybe!!

Too warm for you now I'm assuming. There's no pleasing some folk. Too cold, too hot. Where's the "Goldilocks Zone" when you need it.
