Go HERE it explains it easier than I can (FT8)
WSPR2 is different but still the same principle, a TX lasts 110.6 sec and send my calls, maidenhead locator power etc, repeated of course.
As it is 108 sec long, it can reach the other station better than the short 12.6 sec FT8, peaks and troughs of propagation.
a FT8 exchange can last 6 exchanges, can be cut to 5...
WSPR is just a sending of rx'ed signal to a central database via the program
You also have FT4 which is 4.48 secs long so is faster again but slightly less sensitive.
WSPR2 can decode down to -34db
FT8 can get to -26db
FT4 struggles at -20db although I once had a -22db report..

I might try one later
Longer transmission time gives it more time, before repeated. Increasing the chance of a response?
I'll be honest and say most of that has gone right over my head.

Apple juice?

I recognise many of the words, so I'm pretty sure this is English. The combinations of words, though.......

Sadly I have become too accustomed to 'shortening' every sentence to fit into a text.
Mr C knows where I am coming from with it as part of an ongoing discussion...

I haven't mentioned my recent dabbling in SSTV yet (slow scan tv yet  )

That's the theory..
it also shows in the signal,
at some point it'll peak in the longer transmission.
Battering a morse key, audio etc..
you need favourable atmospherics to carry the carrier....

Opening day win in the bag :okay:

Good morning :hello:
More than a bit rainy, rainy, rattle staney:cuppa:
A little guest overnight who forgot how to sleep:laugh:
more likely excited about a little sister on her way...

Enjoy the Easter holiday..

Does the theory hold out in practice...
Thought you were supposed to tap a Morse key, not batter it. Develop yer own touch on them.
And how often are the conditions in your favour.

They're doing well then?

Of course, signals are like waves at sea, very rarely flat.
I'm presently looking for POTA on 40m and the band is near dead to me but at 16.00? it'll more likely pickup.. too late today

Of course, 1-0 and 161 games to go..
Plant and seedling feeding day today....

Started dry, rain showed up around four hours in to the day.
Maybe the rain rattling on windows kept him awake.
Probably trying to work out where you've hid his eggs.
You're gonna have to draw up a rota for later this year.

If it snows over the weekend, I'll win just over a £100. So long as they don't do what they did at Christmas.
I'd like to help, I have spare, but there's no delivery company collecting today. Easter will be over by the time they start picking up again.

If the waves were flat, they'd not be waves.
Maybe they're all waiting whilst later, then you'll not be able to get a dot in anywhere!

You feel they're in with a chance of keeping their winning streak going then.
They getting anything good, especially as summer time starts this weekend.

Hopefully, better for me on Sunday or Monday. Now Good Friday is over.

If it holds up, you don't sound too hopeful!

13! On a Friday!
May be a sign.
Are numbers at the Dib Dib meets steady?
Plenty of interest from yerself then. What about the rest of them.

Toodles, not the Young 'Un?
She'll run yer ragged. Hopefully you'll ve allowed to sleep longer this morning.
