Afternoon
A bit!
You were still awake enough to be alerted by a computer e-mail ding at 3 in the morning?
Three hours later, after putting right out what once went wrong, you went back to sleep...
Should they have been deleted.
Maybe never to be repeated
I keep my phone on, just in case...
I know if the email is for me as Mrs M doesn't go 'ding'.
I'd gone about the job in a stupid way,
we deal in adi (or adif) files...for logging.
I can download the eQSL (electronic QSL) file..
then upload it and it matches to those waiting..
all these would match as they were requests to exchange the cards, there were 6 'doublers', I sent it up using a newly created database but forgot the most essential thing to use the club call.
My call is divided as two (first stopped in late 2019 when I moved here, and I created a follow-up in 2020..
The pre '20 ones are dealt with easily enough as it is a one-click solution, not the ones after 2020, 275 individual look-ups and deletes.
All done and will take the adif file on a key and upload it to the logging program they use at the club.
The Boss wants a yellow blackbird! Could you just say "No"?
The one left 'll have to do...

How do you print a hole?
No need for anything fancy then.
It were yellow as a plastic colour more than owt else.
You like printing in pink. How about a pink blackbird for The Boss.

I have pink, yellow, black, marble, green, white, blue, orange-red, gold and grey.
I love the wee birds...simple to make...

Made a couple of presta dust caps...
might experiment with others at some point, even the rude ones..

Ways to accept a cup of tea

1. “Only if you're having one”
2. <check watch> “Go on then”
3. “I wouldn’t say no”
4. “Ooh yes please”
5. “I’m gasping”
6. “You read my mind”
7. Respond to “tea?” by saying “tea”
8. “I’ll make it”
9. “Best idea you’ve had all day”
10. Stating milk/sugar preference

here we use 'scantin' for a cuppa instead of the posh 'gasping'

Good morning all (yes, even YOU) :hello:
A two-day blitzkrieg on the Towers and all is gleaming again...
Rest time until visitors arrive....

You didn't expect me to clean for a reason?.....
Owdo up there
Why in summer, spring is when it's meant to be done. Marigolds to the fore, along with buckets, bags and brushes. And yer feather duster!!
Will there be much resting doable when said visitors arrive.

You were busy doing something else, leaving you with little or no time, this time, to spend the two days you did doing it.

I've a post that seems to have gone AWOL between hitting "Post Reply" and the time it should have appeared last night.

A phone going "ding" wouldn't wake me from sleep. I slept through a gas banger/bird scarer being test fired outside the window.
As for Mrs M going ding...
Are you talking cards being matched with contacts, so they don't get treated as new/separate if you get them a second or third time. I
Or, a nifty program that goes looking for new contacts for you. Turning the dial so to speak.

Just plain named colours then, nowt fancy?
Put too many out might scare the real ones from coming to yer garden. Can't say I've seen many pink birds, in the wild, though.
These rude dust caps, are they to your own design or someone elses...
Would you have to remove them before Toodles and Co. could see the bike.

Afternoon all :hello:
Mrs M said brekkie (and pint)?
Was I going to refuse?

Anyway, back home and half a bag of chips barrowed and spread:cuppa:
Plan 2 going into action...
in a day or two:laugh:
Another GC trip, or planning for your next border incursion?
Wonder what would happen if you did refuse?

Just the bag and a half to spread then...
Plan 2, you mean Plan 1 didn't work or wouldn't have worked.
Strike now, whilst folk are off guard.

I uploaded cards for a different callsign....
a big oops..
4 folk sent cards back, and 3 emailed to say they couldn't find me in their log for that date and time.
I do the same..
but I'd got in within hours of posting and cleared the mess..

All other folks' designs......

I'd Malaysia and Philippines late last night and Samoa earlier, a pleasant start to the week.
Back to the radio for a wee bit now..
Program I use, decodes the signals coming in, runs through my file and highlights the calls ,
see image attached below
JTDX sshsot.jpg

The green one, I haven't yet 'worked' on any band of mode...
Sky blue, I have worked but not on this band or this mode, I may have worked him on this band (20m) but not on this mode (FT8)
The tan colour means I HAVE worked him on this band and mode...
In another 'window' to the right, my calls are in yellow background with black letters etc...and that's the business end.
CQ is a call that they are looking for a contact... (seek you)
callsign lets you know the country as in say HB0, the other RER would identify them as each call is unique... JN47 is the locator (normally it is a six digit one...I'm say IO86ba....this lets you know which 10km x 10 km square I'm in
RR73 is confirmation that your details are acknowledged and an end to the contact with them, 73 is basically the same..you have to exchange 73 is some form to fully finish the contact but this gets different in meteor scatter or satellite working (even moonbounce), RRR can confirm there. (I'm sure LOL)

No more trips soon...

No more trips, what'll you do with yer spare time!!
Thought you were getting two at the cheaper price.
Will you ever finish. Even after this bag is spread.

I have two little granddaughters about to take up 4 days of my week...
no time for trips unless it's to local parks, GCs or shops.....
We have a large area which has a different type of chips from the rest, so it has to be covered with the same...
I reckon once we get the rest down it could be another bag to spread....
Kids keep offering to do it, but no, Mrs M and I (combined age 140) keep going...
I'll look at part 2 tomorrow early, four containerised bamboo (good cover for the wee deck), going to put them on 70x70 slabs rather than the circular ones we have now, so GC visit looming,
I can then start throwing on top of the cotswold chips and see what we have left.
Donated quite a few of the excess sunflower plants to a church plant sale, so next year, I will grow what I need.
A cold glass to finish the day..

Was the callsign you used one you were allowed to use?
An "oops" indeed...
So the cards you sent were all sent on the same contact, but you were using another at the time contact was made.
No wonder they couldn't find you in their logs!
How many of the contact cards had actually been posted when the mistake was posted. Some or all of them.

So you know they'll print okay and work, in the case of articulated models.

Anything interesting in either country when contact was made? A decent start to your week, now you've to keep it up till the end of the month, at least.

Seems a lot more complicated than I remember. The callsigns don't appear to have changed that much over the years
I'll blame computerisation for that.
It'd have to be voice contact for me, if I were to start back in to it. And that seems to be dying out, fast.

Does your callsign differ if you change location, or are transmitting on the move? Or is it still linking your home address with it?

You any idea where this post came from? Not visible earlier today, when I replied to your "Good Afternoon" post.

That still leaves you with one "free day" this week. To do with as you wish, or as you're allowed...
GC's, shops or local parks. Not much to go at with "a what can I do now" attitude that you seem to have.
Invite them to do it, whilst you watch from yer seat. They'll thank you at the end of the day/the following day, when they have parts aching.
At least with the round ones you could get them on their edge and roll them. The square ones will require lifting.
The decking done and dusted, all ready for the summer this week...
The church stick a nameplate on a pew for your donations.
Just a cold glass, nothing in it!
