I never checked the date if it coincided with the dam being built,
I'm up to my ears with family tree stuff..
the old peepers have gone all googly scrolling through old newspapers..
It's on the back burner until next week again..

save putting them through a mincer..

You think they kept some of it and tried it after the dam were finished!
I'm lucky, most of it has already been done by others, worldwide. I just connect in where there's the same shared relatives.
I'm left in a bit of a hard spot as one parents birth wasn't registered until some sixty odd years later. But I've been able to work using their other family members.

Make it harder when it came to burial though...

Spent just over an hour checking why strimmer isn't playing..
and I can't find a spare plug..
oh well, a cheapo replacement I guess...

my side I have as far as I think I can go but Mrs M has an 'interesting' side

The loss of the majority of the Irish stuff in the 1920s hasn't helped....
I better go try to find a plug doing nothing....

The gang could be arriving soon.

True enough. John and Jack were two common names down one side o'family. So long as the date range is correct when searching it's easy enough.

There's not as much lost as people think. Records were still kept at a local level, in many places. Also protestant/Church of Ireland records seem to have escaped, with the protestant stuff being held over on the UK mainland.
You'll have one, somewhere...

I am back to 1818, but assured by another person chasing the same line I can go back to 1795.
I haven't seen the evidence so.....the family did keep the naming policy of the time...
I saw on one thing I have, it was the Church of Ireland...
but on my late Mum's side, I'm back to the 1600s..
I have only gone back and never bothered with siblings etc.....

I've access to a few darn sarff papers but not the ones I probably need,
I will see if our local library has but if not, I can organise and get to the national one in either EDI or GLA.

Maybe worth trying the County(ies), see if they have a genealogy/family history section online you could lose yerself in for a day or two. Think you'll be lucky to get much on the Church of Ireland side. Unless the records were still held at local level. Great mistrust, with some plants along the way, to keep an eye on folk.

Why is it always "singers" names they choose to use, very seldom actors names are used.
For over here have you used freeBMD. Available on yer mobile even, and at no cost. Which for a Tyke is an important consideration.
