I made something.....second attempt....
the last day of my cycle using the gpx file..
Left was Tarbet, Harris and the end (right) was the Butt of Lewis lighthouse, there's about 75 miles of up and downs there...
Much better than rings

Porridge was superb as usual...
I have some gpx files of Munros but finding them could be a nightmare.
Just had first rain of the day 0.5 mm,
hedge done earlier with Mrs M...
I'll check my GPS if I can find it......
Off for some scran......
Looks good. Is that your second attempt at printing(Earlier disaster accounted for) or were it your second attempt at what it were for?
A fair few up's n'downs that'll not be shown I bet! Doesn't look 75 miles long...
Agreed, much better than rings.

Well, the "chef" would say that, wouldn't they.
You convert the gpx files to one that can be printed?
Would you do the whole Munro, or just your path up it, as above.
Rain hit here around two, leaving more than you've had so far.
That the hedge done and dusted until next time.
Grab yer scran whilst you can...

It packs lots of GPX data into 75 miles...
It was a tough start but an interesting day, I originally planned Tarbet to Callanish Stone Circle then back next day to finish it but decided to just head on, glad I did as it gave us a day in Stornoway area looking up family addresses (Mrs M ancestors), taking about maybe a return next year, no cycling though.....

I would use the actual GPX track I took on the day, I did a Helvellyn one just to test I was doing it correctly...all legit hiked..
My other GPX files are 'lost' in a mass of files not labelled....
I'll do one more.. Mull or Anglesey....
Quite a bit can be done with maps, going to look more into it....

Hedge was a light trim so as not to square it but keep it a bit all over the place...
Looks like a brekkie and pint tomorrow...

The print?
A fair representation of your days efforts.
A mainly uphill start to your days travels. Twice as far as you'd planned, were you able to sleep that night.
Return to carry on the ancestor hunting again.
So, it'd be like the piece pictured, elevation only. Not your actual route up and back. Could you do it in two parts. The first the mountain, the second, in a different colour, being your route?
A heap of unamed files. Could you sort through by date to get the required file(s).
You appear to have found your next projects, or did they find you?

Just a tidy up of pieces sticking out? Not too much to pick up afterwards.
Brekkie is always a good idea for the morning. Pint or no pint.

I had a look at B&B and hotel prices last night,
I suggested a tent to Mrs M...
Guess the reaction?
If I win the lottery....

All my cycles from many years ago are still there...
I could contact my partner in crime for the main ones....
I will have another look later.
I could do it in different colours..
forgot how to pause it
Nope, just the elevation, but there are methods to do your route, I'm just interested in elevation tbh.
Just to look at and remember, I never did dates or other infos..
Pint is essential now

You pitched up in yer garden overnight.
Suppose it doesn't turn up, what'll tha do?

I still have a one-man tent I can use..
I was actually looking at my camping stuff the other week,
Offering son-in-law first, then maybe a local charity shop.
I've grown soft...
I'd need a portaloo:laugh:

Getting a bit on the steep side these days. Especially if there's few or no hotels in the immediate area. They seem to think they can charge hotel prices without offering the same standards.
Did you let her see the B&B prices, or tell her that she could have the inflatable mattress?
You'd buy a new tent...
Camping can be quite luxurious these days. Nothing like lightweight camping of years gone by.

All yer cycle routes on yer desktop/laptop!
Partner in crime has a better set of records than thaself...
I was thinking more along the lines of a 3D print of the hill, with your route in a different colour printed on it. Sounds like an awful lot of pausing and changing colours required for that. It'd have you on tenterhooks(printed by yourself) just waiting.
Never kept conditions/weather record, ie, wet and windy, heatwave, or winter or summer!
You'll have had that pint by now...

So Mrs M can stay in the B&B, you in your tent, to cut down costs.
I did similar with mine. Told some of it should be donated to a museum. Forty years ain't that old!
If there's only yourself camping you get the inflatable mattress.
Bedpan, as I can't see you getting a portaloo in yer tent.
