When I first started doing wanders out of my then local area, folk would be 'Aye right'.
I just cleared all my planned long-routes from Komoot the other week.
Covid put a lot on hold.....
and situations changed after..
oh well.

Setting in?
well established..
Boggered up my node thing but eventually got it back...
88 since midnight...
Walking isn't something everyone can do. Even if it's just walking to their car on the road.
You planning new ones, ready for when they're old enough to walk?
Just like foot and mouth 20 years before. No walks across the surrounding open countryside.
It'll take a few years to sort itself out.

That bad.
Sounds painful...
Into triple figures with no repeats today!

Last day before the schools reopen, they'll be wanting to spend as much of that remaining time with you.
School? one is about to become 1 at the weekend..
the other is 2, bright but a bit early for school.
Our schools are well back..

I remember crossing from Penrith to Scotch Corner at that time, passing the place where the carcases were burning..
I'm just glad the smoke was blowing away.
We've been on COVID alert for the past few days. One of the mob had the faintest of lines, but it seems to have gone no further.
They had been at a concert....
Beer, I think would be a good idea.

Sunday Schools still going strong up there?
Neither of them want to go to school.
Some of them have been back over a week here, with them all back tomorrow. Too many academies round these parts.

Downwind at the time of the burning, and too close at times for my liking.
Here's to the alert remaining just an alert, progressing no further.
Only the one showing the line?
Beer, don't think it can do anything about COVID, other than helping you forget if you have too much...

I was a 'churchgoer' in my very younger days..
if only for the bribe of a poke of mint imperials..
My 'signal' just popped into Barnsley, by 'eck....
Wish they did go to school....

I better go get some housework done,
a fair exchange, I do the housework and have fun with the kids whilst granny gets the real fun....
Toodles just brought me a biccy on a plate, playing picnics..

You do the Sunday School thing up there.
Cheap on the bribery front when you were young. Mint Imperials...
Did you get it back, that's the important part.
You'd be dropping them off in the mornings, picking them up in the evenings, and able to do very little in between.

Housework done?
Is it though... why can't you have the real fun. You could have smoked kippers at least once a week if you were in charge.
And a "cup of tea" to go with it.

Been busy chasing paperwork, so missing this morning.

I’m home alone this week, girls are in Amsterdam

Feel free to go nuts.....
Amsterdam is nice,
did the tourist stuff years ago, visited the Ajax park,
Anne Frank thing, I loved how you had to leave through the gift shop place.
We avoided it the other two times we were over...
We got the train in from the Arena and were met with thousands of bikes parked up outside the Central Station, phenomenal numbers.
Think if I did return, plane journey, 3 young kids in a car, not recommended from the land of Jock

As soon as I got the chance, religion went out the window.....
'granny sookers' was the local name for them..
I assume as grannies sooked them..

'Ace Mhor' .....'smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast'
Must be near kipper time....
Oops time to go

And you'd weaned yerssen off the mint imperials.
Would that put you in the same class as the grannies that sooked them back then...

It'd be cold when you got back though.
Have one last one before setting out.
Don't spend up...

I had teeth
I might ask the Boss to pick me up a packet...
School days were those big 2 for a 1d ones....

Toodles turned up wearing her new wellies so off out we go..
Into the shop, a partner (guess the shop),
looked and looked like he thought, 'Its summer, hmpphh'
I looked and said, 'Did you never demand you wear your new wellies when a little one?'
I got a grump....
grumpy old git..
A lady standing next to me turned and said, ' Don't show him a pint of milk'
New node local to me...
Got an alert at the Cross....when coming home..
Interesting.
Been poring over local maps, so two spots chosen for my solar-powered router node.
I hope to build it after my next cross-border raid....
ssh, don't pass it on:eek:
