Still dry here, at least fer now...
They've actually shown you yer foot, and the damage yer did.
You'll get up one morning ready to go and wonder why no-one else is bothered. And summer on it's way as well, just in time for yer trial rides locally.
Would you be going kit to convert Polly(Poor Polly, left alone and unridden)
Tomorrow is how I read yer day off, which is why I said it'll rain.
Any singing in the car?

Any differences between the two in terms of working with and finish.
Be careful yer pots don't walk off...
Back to "Frankenstein" projects I see.
Alone whilst the "twins" are taken back home, or for longer?

I've put it it down to the particular brand of PETG, I already did the job with another brand with no problem so...I'll chalk it down to that, I will try one setting but after I ger back. Both supports worked but jeez, the mess underneath when they came off,

I dunno about converting, it would save money I suppose and I know the bike....think about it in the future,
I have a photo of the pot thing, quite clever but will post later.

My foot/ more ankle really, I take the odd photo to see progress and wot a difference from the initial 'hole'...
Mrs M calling , and as I said above, a GC visit to look at something....
Bought middle child an early birthday present, a jigsaw...just what a daughter wants:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

Good morning :hello:
Listen !
It's deadly quiet at the Towers...
no Toodles Two:ohmy:
Off out to another GC visit...
Enjoy your day..

Question is : Will it stay dry and sunny?
Owdo, late but better late than never
The sound of silence!
Well, it's yer day off, to be expected...
Another, they still got stuff you've not bought or considered buying?

Well dry and sunny down these parts, still, so far...

No luck on the piece you were printing then. You'll be marking that particular brand as not for you then. Was the mess down to what you were using or just the supports.

Should be cheaper than buying another bike. And someone might start eyeing Polly up. Think about it if it gets to that stage.
Yer pot feet keep the pot off the floor, or just make them a bit more stable?

It's healing is the main thing. Boots the next time you use the strimmer?
Hope you didn't ignore her calling you, especially with a GC to visit.
A Wasgij one by any chance.

Not yet, one last chance...
I'm going to reduce the melting temp but I'm already using the recommended settings....
Fan back on after three first layers....
I've used the brand before in PLA and was okay. Worth a go, every other prints been great with the light grey PETG..
Halfway through, would have done it earlier but chasing some voice contacts on the radio..

Update, failed at one end....but almost there.
The bin has seven pieces now, I'd already thrown one bit away

If the supports hadn't set solid, I'd have got one usable using sandpaper..
IMG_0737.JPEG

Tried different temperatures, different orientation on the plate, different supports, different speeds, all sorts.
Every other piece printed excellent, I even put in the 'drier' in case moisture had got in....As I said another PETG beam printed excellent..

I even took in AI advice

Removing PETG supports requires careful, sometimes difficult techniques due to its strong layer adhesion and tendency to weld. Effective methods include increasing top Z distance to 0.28–0.3 mm, using tree supports, waiting for the print to cool completely, and using side cutters or pliers to carefully break away supports.

PLA from now on, just Mrs M's plant supports then
IMG_0731.JPEG

That's 198 mm (for 8" inch pot base...plus one of the beams with supports

It's one more than I'd have given it.
Being honest, they do look a bit of a mess.
If you go below the recommended temperature any chance of it being a solid piece, that won't fall apart when whoever's using it is tap tapping away on it. Causing them to curse you when it does...
Maybe it just doesn't want to be spending its working life tap tap tapping.
Multi tasking not for you at present still. You got yer contacts I take it?

Wouldn't a bit of filler and sanding have cured any of them.
Odd how one works and another doesn't on the same piece.

AI advice, we're that wise, they'll know yer making summat now.

A bit harder cut than the plastic in an Airfix kit then.
How easy is it remove from the printer. Compared to the other stuff you use.

Looks okay, the pot support that is. You doing many, as we've a cold spell headed this way. I'll admit I were thinking you were printing feet that spread the base of the pot out slightly. Increasing stability, akin to feet on a christmas tree. Remove and reuse on another.

Youngest only tomorrow so once she sees the hobby horses, she'll go nuts..
Sis will appear after nursery so chaos will ensue.
I even tested one out in a GC car park

PLA, just snips off so easy, pity I didn't make it the right size, I must widen it by 10 mm and depth of the lip by the same, I'll make another tomorrow..
I'll use it up the loft for my Meshtastic thingy.. I usually use black electric tape (the Meshtastic unit in its PLA case ) to wrap it to a loft spar..
IMG_0740.JPEG

Tree supports under the lip, most come by hand but some I'd use the blue snips..
Very brittle compared to PETG ones...
PETG supports are NOT brittle...
I'll use the remaining light grey to make a couple of pot stands, limited by my 220 x 220 plate...
but they'll get used.

The fact that 4 stone plant pot feet cost around 6 quid....they actually look not bad, Mrs M likes them..
I can make PETG feet (more suited for outside)
Oh, bought sweet pea seedlings and a couple of trailing fuchsia seedlings today (on special, more likely knowing folk won't buy them in this icy wx), garage is cold enough and a daylight bulb will do just now until I pot them up properly...must be sunflower seed planting soon.

Minus 2c just now, must be forecast pretty cold early morning.....

You bought a hobby horse, were it a unicorn by any chance?
Youngest will have tired herself out by the afternoon. Leaving the leader of the pack free to ride the hobby horse.
Did Mrs M get any pictures of you trying the hobby horse out?

It sounds so easy that I'd wonder what I were doing wrong/missing.
Did you not measure twice before starting it going!
At least it's found a purpose other than a display piece. You can still get in yer loft, with all the radio gear up there.
PETG less brittle than PLA, but more useful for use outside?
Yer printer is about the size of ones I've seen. Unless I feel like going into four figures, or multi feed models. I keep on looking, but can't justify buying one.

Sounds expensive for stone feet.
Keeping yer chauffer impressed is important...
Yer keen on yer peas still. Wait until the finer weather arrives and see how much the price increases. They the only plants growing in the garage under artificial lighting?
I think sunflower seed sowing might be a bit late this year, compared to last year.

There's talk of -7°C down south tonight, what that means for you up there I don't know. Hell freezing over maybe...
Stay warm

Good morning :hello:

Bob now has a head dold (not a misspell)
Just about to lemsip:rolleyes:

Similar situation here. A little over minus 1°C around midnight to about 3°C at present. Snow headed in your direction it seems.
Final throes of the lurgy?
Use to many of them and they lose their effectiveness. I'd say a "Hot One" is called for in this situation...
Yet to venture out, but I'll do my best to avoid getting cold. How long's your mate planning on staying with the canaries.

Yer right about down south being Hell (south of the Lakes)

There is a video of the hobby horse testing......

I initially was going to use one version (I have two meshtastic boards) but decided the longer lasting battery board would be best) so a resize about to be printed in good old PLA...
PETG can be used in a lot more things....my fruit washer (now over a thousand views on the Toob shorts, three 'shorts' up since Aug and 2,600 views, do folk not have better things to do ?
Wonder how I'd do with the video of hobby horse testing?

I can't find my gardening diary type notepad...
I need fresh seeds any way.....
Sweet Peas, I normally do a tub of eating peas as well but the oldest Toodles ate them fresh from the pod...

Stone feet? GC prices.. mind you never looked for them in B and the M..
I'll get a photo of the yellow ones in action at some point..
I ain't going out today, achoo:whistle:

Maybe, if you keep on coming down the wrong side of the Pennines.

Blackmail material, you could be in trouble with that when yer better.

Not too cold in the garage for printing then.
Why'd you not buy two of the longer lasting battery boards.
Was yer fruit washer not printed in PLA? They'll both have their uses, faults. Why else would they sell two different types.
Just think, you could be an influencer on youtube, if you don't put the hobby horse trial up. Although there'd be a fair few who'd watch that as well.

Maybe someone's hidden it on you...
Fresh seeds, you'll be spending more money now. And this time you'll have her showing her younger half the delights of eating of the vine. There'll be less for yerself!
Tomatoes this year?

Went in the local B and M just before christmas, first time since they relocated. Can't recall seeing any stone feet.
If yer feet are yellow, you've nursey type problems. Or maybe "vet" type...
I'd stay where it's warm if I were you. Don't want that cold getting worse....

Tomatoes? need to discuss as they grow at the glass area at the back, tried peppers BUT little hands about....
Beetroot again.....in the gutters, last year I just bought it from the german place to pickle...
I already have seed tatties, I'll start 'chitting' them in the next couple of weeks...just do them in tattie bags
Not really though much about the tubs at the side path...

Fruit cleaner was PETG....
Can't really use PLA for that sort of thing...

Days high 4.4c just now...
Bit dull out after some sunshiny stuff earlier..
Hopefully stay some overnight but don't think so...
Nah, lurgy got worse.....
lots of sneezy weezy stuff...
Silence has returned..

Tomatoes never made it onto yer list, you surprise me. Peppers and little hands might not end well...
Not enough of yer own beetroot to pickle?
You seem to have a regular selection to work from.
What'll go in the tubs to tempt the young uns...

Fair enough. I know next to nowt about the materials and thought you worked only with PLA.

Been inside for most of the afternoon, morning weren't too bad though.
No sunshine here. A lighter spell around 1pm and that'd be the highlight of the weather report.
Snow forecast again, tonight and tomorrow morning. You'll be wandering about in shorts and t-shirt no doubt.
Man Flu!
Reaction to getting better.
Sneezing aside?

I'll get the girls to look after and plant a tub each, oldest with peas and I'll decide later for the youngest.
Two spud bags, beetroot in the guttering, some little gem lettuce too, I'll look for my gardening notepad tomorrow..

PLA, mostly but have about 5 spools of PETG but will use it up.
I'll get Mrs M to see how many plant pot stands she wants and run them off.

I see real balmy temps soon, still 2.5c here just now and looking like dry day no 2.
More like Bob head cold.....
I can sneeze some...

It's the old story, veg, toms, beetroot etc is cheaper to buy TBH than cost of growing but it's the fun doing it..
Crossword time tonight..
