ENG is in uproar...I think @Wal is with us now..they have just got as far N as Inverness and N onto the mesh, sterling work by those concerned. Devices are .8 of a watt max...on 868Mhz. Google Meshcore, avoid the UK site..

Look at it this way, folk have worked hard to have this network from the Cork area and now have extended up to Orkney, some bright folks out there

I leave to them who know all about it..
Note the channel name but the main thing is the 'Region' in this case Sco, Ireland is IOI.
This restricts access to this setup.

What node is used away from home, and how do the two differ. Had a google as you suggested, and it seems there's extra to buy before I could use it on a phone. I take it a radio license is still required, or is it?
The hops got shorter when they reached the mainland.
The Irish beat you too it in getting the system connecting the two countries. Where there's a will... Is this what yer solar powered project will be adding to, when up and running.

If I were to gain access the system in Ireland, would I be allowed to use it . They'd recognise an english phone number.

I differenciate one as Callsign Home and Callsign BOB,
this is the Meshcore thing..
You don't need a licence to operate as it is based in the 868Mhz small devices band, there is a cycle limitation, I'm rethinking it and maybe moving to something else as tbh it is poor coverage where I am
Meshcore I get aircraft scatter, I'm convinced so only when i'm out I get some use out of it.
You have to check coverage in any area you'd use but if you are in a valley away from the urban sprawl, I'd avoid.
If using Meshcore, they have kept the ENG warring factions out and as I said created a mesh with Sco and NWales.

Solar is out the back running, would have set it up but with the main repeater going down, I'll make a decision at some point.
Phone numbers do not come into it, apps don't recognise a countries number..
This is Meshtastic but the main repeater i feed into has gone down and instead of 70 plus at times, I'm getting 16 at most.
I'd be better redeplying this kit as something else out there.

18 plates populated then printed (I bagged each one as not to get confused),
no need for glue or anything.
The bolts were even printed
Who ever did this is a genius as even i could clip and build it.
Young Beag gets it if he wants it,
supposed to be 13 inch tall but I'll test that in the morning,
flung one of those coke can mini-fridges out not that long ago.

36 hours work they reckon...

Well I take back what I said about it being too big for your printer. Looks good.
First thought was it were a Lego R2-D2 you'd finished building, but thrown by the can at the side of it. Oversized Airfix type kit...
If Young 'Un doesn't want it, I'd say you'd get a jaw dropping "Wow" moment if you were to offer it to someone else.

I goggled the name and got "Security Systems".
Smaller nozzle = better finish?
And the real time printing was how long compared to estimated time...
I'm not knocking it. It does look good, there's no disputing that. And no supports required it seems. less cleaning up before assembly.
I can see eyes turning towards it...
