Strange, but when I picked that stage I could have sworn it was completely flat. I found it pretty tough, even with AAAC towing me along. I dread to think what the rest might be like.

@Jim Brown - Respect on the time you put in on that ride tonight. I couldn't get anywhere near you, but thanks for all the encouragement, at least it kept me going to the end.

Well done - it will be interesting to see what Whorty does on that one.

Cheers Wofie, my legs are glowing..

I hope Whorty lets me know when he's doing it so I can watch.. cheer him on.. :bravo:.... wish him well..:addict:

LIVING THE DREAM
What news??? Are they removing them? (!!!)

Nope (sorry shower break).
To annoy Bill I was experimenting a bit with the dead stops.
One of the main things I think I have uncovered is to go with the flow.
On several occasions Bill and I dead stopped but in slightly different positions.
I think I found that if you charge into and inevitable dead stop at speed then just freewheel as you hit the steep gradient you may dead stop earlier than others but don't panic just keep freewheeling and the Sim will keep you going, all be it a bit slowly for a while with no effort.
If you slog away in the dead stop you gain nothing.
After a short while the dead stop will release you but just keep freewheeling and you will be gifted with a sudden spurt of power and speed and at this point you can slam on the power again.
To test this theory I am going to set up a session some time and practise this theory.

Other than that that course just did not work well with BSim with all those sudden gradient changes.
For a while, at the start were clicking along well and then we dropped Monte (sorry Monte) and Bill and I carried on quite nicely at pace until those sudden +7's etc cut in followed by similar short downhills.
I think we soared over a few of the shorter ones before the Sim kicked in the resistance as is often the case.

Seeing @BILL S time and then @Jim Brown time and the power Jim had, I don't think I'll be beating Jim on that one! Hopefully get to have a go tomorrow evening or Saturday. I have a feeling I'm going to be in pain when I get off the bike!!!

LB did the fitter just move the saddle up or was there any fore/aft adjustment and what about handlebar and shifters?
Loads of other changes: Saddle forth, Saddle angled a bit down, steer raised, cleats moved back a bit - the whole point was trying to rotate my body clockwise to get a flatter back and get my head down.
I could post a before/after picture if it is of any interest (when he sends me the data)..

Even more of a pity because I've added the ghosts of all who've done it.

been away for almost 4 weeks got a lot of catching up to do hopefully get back up there with goldwolfie and whorty on the flatish courses that is

What time do you think your going to start as I may join you I don't think it's a course for drafting as we have different trainers looks very up and down as well but we can try

You made me nervous about my own set up and have just checked my saddle height.
If I added 4 cm I'd create a problem that Mrs Pig would get upset about! (I checked the leg angle once connected to the pedal which has come out around 28 degrees so pretty much spot on.)

However, I have found that I am likely over reaching when on the hoods so will probably have to get a shorter stem. Its a good exercise as actually I have found that I have been getting pain in my right elbow without looking into why, but having checked this is likely caused by over extension.

So thanks LBHIFI for the proverbial kick up the a**e to go and check my own setup!
