Just had a look at @bobinski cadence graph for the Curella Killer kicker ride...................is there a problem with your sensor Bob or are you really starting and stopping like that? ........or maybe this is the On/Off technique i have heard about?

I agree with Randy. Just don't buy a pro from Wiggle. Buy it direct from bkool so you should be getting one of their later, properly made ones.

Funny you say that

I did a ride this morning, well more of a spin. Pretty flat, not very fast, and the trainer seemed to be making a bit more noise than usual... I'd probably describe it as the whirring noise it normally makes but noticeably louder. I'm hoping it was having a bad morning or I've not used it enough to experience the inconsistencies rather than the unit being faulty.

I chose to buy direct from BKool at £480 as it came with the premium subscription, wheel riser, skewer and the Ant+ adapter all thrown in. I could not find out if these all came with the trainer from places like wiggle and Rutland cycling, so it was a simple decision for me.

On a lighter note went for the first hard ride of the year with Master Jessop who can tramp on at a good pace, a good bit of through and off, not too windy, dry grippy roads no power meter but by feel was a similar effort to the last couple of Bkool rides with similar amount of drafting. 20.5 mph. Pleased with that for the beginning of the year. However shows how kind Bkool is with speed figures, I wonder if it is the same with the power. Anyone running a power meter and can say how the figures compare?
Also legs are done in for the day so no re-run for me.
Before I got a new Pro with the new firmware, I used to have much higher power readings. Something like 50 watts more than now, so I think it depends on which Pro and firmware you have.

A friend of mine has a pair of Garmin Vectors and he consistently read 30 Bkool watts too much on climbs and 30 Bkool watts too little on flat sections.

We have the same setup, except I had mine calibrated by Bkool. I think mine is accurate on both climbs and flat section, that is, after about 20-30 seconds when the Pro's resistance settles.

:wahhey: I've completed a session without trying to cough up a lung :wahhey:

Having said that, it was the first complete sesion I have done for about 5 weeks and it shows. :B) :cursing:  I thought it hurt to restart from nowhere in the fitness stakes. Getting restarted is worse . The mind remembers where you were and tries to go there, but the body can't deliver :surrender:.

Still I now have a time for the tin can ten handicap chase, 37.01  Geoff I may have another couple of minutes to come off that in a full on chase session

I fully intend to do the chase session tomorrow now

Mind's from Wiggle and they do come with wheel riser, skewer and Ant+ adaptor. They also used to come with 3 months premium subscription but I'm not sure if they still do?

My first one lasted all of 4 rides before breaking, but the replacement unit has been fine so far...

Bill,
dummy session done thanks.

Alfie,
my cadence often makes no sense. I have a wahoo bluetooth/ant+. when bkool reads from this my cadence seems to more accurately reflect how i am spinning the pedals. but more often than not it is reading from the turbo which is very innacurate. My cadence, however i ride, is much more accurate in zwift.
I have just had a look too. On this ride i was trying not to on/off coz it is so tiring but instead to keep cadence up in between putting down power or higher gears at high cadence. i might momentarily stop or ease off on pedalling especially as i change gears but on screen it would show i had stopped pedalling for several seconds. I think it just takes longer to register and catch up with cadence.

Ahh i see, just thought it looked pretty whacky with you doing zero at one second and then up to high 80's the next and then dropping again to zero........was wondering if you had some amazing new technique for getting such a decent time mate
