Thanks for the comments above. My lbs did not have a good word to say about Planet X bikes - but then he would! Going to the London Bike show next month so will have a good look around. Cube seem to be good value for money, but I have read about some of their frames cracking around the BB. These were a couple of years ago though so maybe they have solved the problem.
I thought the Cube problem on carbon frames was around the seatpost & quite a rare & historic problem - although I have been known to be very wrong.
See Johnnyh post on thread PlanetX Pro Carbon v Mekk Poggio 2.5.
He's just plumped for one (PlanetX) as did another member recently - can't remember thread though.
Quite a few have either specced or built up there own
Ribble R872 bikes on here too - although I am led to believe that Ribbles customer service can be great one day & abysmal another.
The R872 works out more expensive too if you get Ribble full build in 105 or Ultegra.
PlanetX current deal for an almost total Ultegra build is phenomenal.
Hope this helps a little.
Edit. Some have mentioned excellent service from Planet X.
