I made the mistake of leaving my saddle pack containing forty quids worth of lights and batteries on my bike yesterday. It seems that the locked bike shed of a charitable organisation is no match for petty theft.

Back light recommendations anybody?

Grrrr etc.....

Here's a few to consider:

Cateye TL LD 1100
Blackburn Mars 4.0
Smart Superflash 317R
BLT Fantom XR9

If you want to spend more - look for a Dinotte.

Thieving scum. Must have been another cyclist.

The Smart kidney 3 LED is a cracking rear light now on sale at CRC for £3.00 (57% off). Very bright, robust and lasts ages. I have a small supply of them. Hopefully I will never have to buy another rear light ever.

This is what I think, that's what annoys me the most.

If I see anybody with my lights on the back of their bike I'll break their fingers.

Thanks for the pointer Crankie, just went and got a couple. Just what I've been looking for - and what a bargin! I do love a bargin!

This isn't a bad offer:

Got the smart 317; and also a front light. Bizarrely, the rear by itself is £11.
The front light isn't too bad either - it's a fairly 'white' light as LEDs go, it beats my husband's small Cateye.

Does your husband mind his cateye being beaten? ;)

You're gonna have a busy ride home tonight then, unless they were really distinctive!

Sorry to hear about this Scouser, especially as it seems pretty fair to assume that it was a "fellow" cyclist.

Shocker, glad you've moved on and replace the set.

Cheers

I had a mars 4.0 and a cateye one in my bag that was robbed. I've stolen my wife's mars as she's not cycling during the colder months.

So angry about this. I know it's one of those things but it does make my blood boil. Off to Evans to buy a new spare inner tube and tyre levers as a pun*ture and no kit would just finish off my day perfectly

If some b@strad is going to keep on nicking them, then a job lot of tesco cheapies might be the way forward.

Or remove them from the bike after you've locked it...
