“My son was injured because of the state of this road and we feel he should be compensated for it".

“It is only a matter of time before an elderly person falls. The road is a mess and with winter coming it is going to get worse.”

Callum, who has diabetes and mild learning difficulties,"

It is a disgraceful story. As has been noted that surface irregularity is hardly a pothole, and the kid's other issues are utterly irrelevant. My guess is he was pootling along, heedless, feckless, no hands, and came a cropper like the idiot he must be. I cannot imagine any other way of crashing on that little bump in the road. I ride over that kind of stuff all the time on a road bike without a second thought.

Sadly I expect some legal aid lawyer will get them something for it, although I hope not.

I've been thinking about him too, must be hard if you are going to get mocked for falling if on such a small bump and I guess he is unable to ride on the pavement as he can't bump up even a dropped kerb, let alone a proper kerb.

I think the council rather than paying out, ought to offer him some free training in basic riding skills.
