Tektro compatible brake pads

My MTB has Tektro hydraulic disc brakes. I've no idea what model the calipers are as the only writing on them is 'Tektro' and 51262 0010T21
The Tektro website is useless. Googling the part or serial number has produced no results, or rather lots of questionable ones including the AI assistant telling me they are for a Toyota.

I haven't removed the pads to check for numbers as I can see they aren't worn out yet and I don't have a similar size split pin handy. I want spares for when they are needed, plus I need to spend a bit more to get free delivery on some pedals I'm ordering!

Is it possible to establish which pads are compatible from that part / serial number?

I searched "Tektro 51262" and the first item on the list was .... this thread

IMHO Tektro are not good. I had to replace a left brake lever this year, the part took 4 months to arrive. Earlier than that I needed some pads and found it hard to source the right shapes.

Next time I need work on the brakes they are getting swapped out for a Shimano system.

Would it be worth it to take the bike, or just the pads to your LBS and show them what you want. Get the right pads and keep the part numbers for future reference.

I did! The parts came straight from the Tektro factory but took an absolute ages to arrive, then when the UK distributor got them they didn't bother to send them out despite being an outstanding order. plus the lever they went is not a 100% match - the design has changed slightly.

They finally did send them when I got the LBS to chase them, so Shimano it is next time.

While rooting around for something else I found the leaflet that came with the brakes. It doesn't identify the model number of either the calipers or the pads. The instructions for replacing the pads states 'undo the pad retaining bolt.' There isn't one, the pads are retained by a split pin.

Anyhow, I removed the pads which are marked E10.11 .

Anyone know the Shimano / Swiss stop / any other competent manufacturer equivalent of these? I don't have any faith in Tektro, who seem so ashamed of their product that they don't put the model number on it and can't provide accurate instructions.

They're the same pads as the Shimano M515 and others - see below list nicked off a search.
Compatible with Shimano:
M355/M375/M395/M415/M416/M445/M446/M465/M475/M485/M495/M515/M525/M535/M575/C501/C601)
Plenty of choice out there.
