Tell me to man up and grow a pair

I've been off the bike for about 2-3 weeks now, firstly due to the first snow fall and 23mmSchwalbe Blizzards being incompatible (ironic? I think so!!), latterly due to mehaving had a cold/sore throat. We in the mysterious northern fens are currently snow-less however, and I'm feling increasingly guilty about not cycling in.
So, tell me to grow a spine/man up and grow a pair/whatever 'cos I need to get out and burn off some pre-Christmas calories!!

p.s. then when I go to the London bike show in January and spend some MORE money on bike kit I won't feel so guilty

Softy ! I rode my Boardman on slicks in the snow......not sure it would be a good idea tomorrow though now the stuff has frozen !!!

Do as you feel safe,it's no fun crashing and burning and being off the bike longer.

no prospect of any more this year either, although I'm still hoping for a miracle thaw after Xmas that might see me get out just once before the new year.

I tried not cycling to work, but I didn't like it so I stopped. Glad I got some snow tyres from Santa though; and the good old boy came through with an early delivery. I must have been really good.

I'm not sure I really fancy riding on slicks to Vauxhall tonight and I definitely won't fancy the 20 minute dash between the shift end and a doctor's appointment back in Deptford that I'll need to do in the morning. Met say it's going down to -8 with freezing fog overnight.

I'm desperately trying to persuade them into dropping back down...

You're only what...10 miles from me, i havnt missed a commute yet.
TBF, on the worst days when snow was down, i used the hybrid with 32 mm tyres but ive been using 23's on the roadbike since, then i'm lucky, i'm riding in the city on gritted roads...maybe not the case for you. . Even then, i'm only commuting for 45 minutes maximum, my hands won't take any more with the cold.

Do you have far to commute Browser ? A sore throat's a bummer, maybe take it steady eh.

There are many things that are a personal decision ......

Riding in this weather is down to your experience, skills, and your assessment of risk.

If you are "older" and hence more fragile then the risk of a fracture, and the consequences thereof than that is a real decider.

I know I have discouraged my wife from riding on a few days over the last few weeks, and I know that days like yesterday I would not have cycled without the Catrike!

Your decision...
