My experience was that they did know, they usually made a comment when the ad break was going to start for those on Eurosport, and then said welcome back to them at the end of the ad break.

Yes - sometimes on the major races
the less major one - even some well known ones - I got the impression that they knew about the GCN stuff
but Eurosport lobbed a few more in and they didn;t tell the commentators

Races like buses this week. Nothing so far but 3 tomorrow. Both Tours of Luxembourg and Slovenia are being showed on TNTs linear channels, while GP Wallonia is being streamed.

Last weekends British Gravel Championships are available to watch on YouTube ( It might have been on live?) 9 hours plus of it but is possible to fast forward it. Its not bad viewing given the difficulty of the motorbikes getting past riders on narrow gravel lanes.

Comfy armchair to one person & a plank to the next
All part of the shift to streaming
Freesat is likely to the first to disappear given a new satellite will be required.
Eventually but all the previous satellites have exceeded their predicted lifespans. Astra 2A served for 26 years in the end, 11 more than budgeted. 2G was only launched in 2014 so there's probably a while yet.

Anyway, contrary to the above info from the BBC, Sunday's Time Trials are on the Freesat Red Button 1 broadcast channel too, with what might be repeats on Monday and Tuesday. I suspect they will also be on Freeview 601 but I've not yet checked. So people don't have to let Snoopy Auntie watch what they're watching if they don't want to.
