Child 2 got a discount for Netflix just before the plague lock down, and although I don't watch much TV, I have been impressed by the writing for "The Good Place". Not the usual American formulaic two short sentences setting up the the third, laugh sentence.I think we forget how sh1te MOST american TV is. We've been spoilt by Ch4 cherry-picking the best over the years (oh, and The Simpsons!).
It shows how little attention I pay to the TV apart from certain channels. 😁I'm loving Ted Danson's 2nd career - he's been in some really interesting things.
(we watched The Good Place on Ch4/E4 in 2018 )

In many ways the freeing up to many many channels has just spread the available funds much wider. So no one channel can produce good stuff regularly. The good stuff pops up all over the place at random times and intervals and it's easily missed in the noise of all the cr&p.Tv went downhill after they introduced more than BBC One,BBC Two and ITV.
