Not sure if we've got any members in Lancaster, but just in case, this might be of interest:
Dear all,
Please note that the University cycle path that comes onto campus from Bailrigg Lane round the back of the Croft and out on Bailrigg Drive will be completely closed off to all cyclist and pedestrian traffic from 07.30 Monday 14th December till 17.30 Friday 18th December at all times.
This is to resurface the path and provide drainage improvement works.
This will reduce the risk of cyclist falls on the tight bend, of which there will several occurrences over the summer due to the poor state of the surface condition. The likelihood of infrequent flooding will also be reduced as a result of the drainage improvement works.
Cyclists and pedestrians will have to use an alternative route, the most applicable being the A6 and then onto campus.
We apologise for the inconvenience that this will cause next week but the quality of this section of the cycle path should be greatly improved by the end of next week.
Please pass on this message to all people that you know who may be wishing to use this route next week as a cyclist or as a pedestrian. A notice will appear in LU Text this week and signage will also be erected over the weekend.
Best regards,
Phil
