I have my old faithful that has done many years of good service, but it's always nice looking to see what I could get..... And I spotted the Giant Liv Thrieve... Now my current bike is a Giant Escape 0 probably 2008 model, so this looks fairly similar whilst being a much better colour (in fact my favourite colour:okay:).

Can anyone tell me whether the two frame shapes are similar? I'm hoping for a slightly shorter reach as I don't feel quiet as flexible as I did then, and sometime my medium can feel a little long (not significantly out).

Are there other bikes that would be similar that I should also consider if I let this go any further than dreaming in my head? There wouldn't be any rush into making a snap decision as I've a couple of expensive months coming up.... But it certainly got me thinking about a new bike.

I don't want a boring colour and must have disk brakes, and the ability to have mudguards and panniers.
I'm picking up my Giant Liv Thrive today^_^

The Thrive you linked to has a 'CoMax' frame, which I believe is carbon. Giant do other models of the Thrive with alloy frames.

And no rack mounts, your only option would be a seat post collar with mounts and I'd be wary of that weight on it

Have a look at the 2016 Thrive 1.
Tredz are doing them for £699. Sorry - can't seem to post a link from my phone. Google it.
It's an alloy frame, basically the same as the Dash, so it may well have mudguard and rack mounts. Very fetching in white and purple. Decent spec at that price.

I'm sure you could add panniers to Aunty Tykes bike, p clips

How about this, too green? http://www.gbcycles.co.uk/p/76319/T...&network=pla&gclid=CODs2oLOg8gCFdVAGwodvkIDgw

Or how about drop bars? As N+1 https://www.scotbycycles.co.uk/bike...p3319/s10730?gclid=CI26oafRg8gCFQxmGwodfKIGtQ

Or you could get PX to build one like mine perhaps (or get LBS to do, can buy just the frame). It's blue and quite sparkly. Racked up with p clips. And quick because it's a roadbike, light, 23mm tyres

The first two don't have disk brakes.... Though I do like the colour. The brakes are non negoiatable though I might consider adding them myself (LBS)! I love disk brakes, the consistent stopping, and non mucky rims that don't get worn down.
