That won't mask source IP and posting style/content, patterns of browsing and so forth!

Oh, almost forgot same password hashes or email addresses.
Posting style you can pick up on. The way they use the words & their choice of words, is often a givaway. IP Addresses, mobile phone and dual SIM cards.

Guys, never mind Facebook, got a store loyalty card?
It knows the colour of the underwear you bought in last week!
My Tesco card knows the make of food I feed the cat, now they also know what bike light I bought from Evans with my points ... they know I have a cat, a bike, they know I cycle after dark... and of course, they know where I live.

Annoyed hell out of tescos using mine. Always used it when making odd purchases, dog food, fresh veg & curry powder. Or some such mix.

Points now redeemable on some ferry crossings.

There's the famous case of Target working out that a teenage girl was pregnant before her own father did.

Trust me, as a L3 internet investigator I know I can't be found unless someone with access to certain subscriber systems breaks the law. On FB I've always used fake details, but a lot of coppers do now because of the potential targeting of coppers by insurgents.

Depends on the words you use, whether you set alarm bells ringing as it were.

The one above, which you liked, requires a bit of sideways logic applying to understand.

Makes this harder then
Before some large men from the NSA turn up to waterboard classic33 I must point I that I do not know him, have never met him, and absolutely love apple pie!

Worth remarking for anyone else who thinks this is a good idea, it contravenes the FB terms of service and if anyone finds you and reports you, your account will be locked/frozen unless you can provide them with some form of official ID.

One of the many reasons I deleted my FB account two years ago

Question then.
There's nine of "me" been found on FaceBook. Of which six have been proven by someone else not to be me.
Why are the six, proven not to be me, by someone else, not closed then?

I regularly get 'do you know x?' emails from LinkedIn featuring, eg, people I once worked on a project with, seven years ago. I'd rather not think about how LinkedIn is equipped to make those connections, let alone how many others - and who - out there can do the same & much more, without sending 'do you know?' messages.
