Tesco has some cycle stuff on special offer at the moment, although the stock seems to vary between stores.
PS. Anyone tried the 'wind-up' rechargeable lights? Worth £8?

Just bought the 3w LED torch (£10), and also 'backup' lights - exactly the same as the Sigma ones (I have these too) - down to £2.66 each - bargain.

Tried the Tesco 3w AA out this morning - flippin heck - lights up the rear of cars from over 100 yards - angled down slightly to boot/bumper level.... and that's in partial daylight, certainly not dark.

God knows how bright the bigger torches are, or the Finix ones. The Tesco AA 3w is ideal - just using some of my rechargeables in it now - watch out though, some rechargeables are a bit 'thick' to fit.

Impressed with the Tesco mini bike lights - almost identical to my Sigma mini's and the 'police' flash is eye catching. Well worth the £2.66 - half the price of Sigmas.

Got a comment this morning with the 2 x EL510's and the torch...."Bright Lights" from some school kid at a bus stop. Got a few funny looks from cyclists as well - considering most don't even have one decent lamp up here !

Saw 2 blokes last night - 1 on Dual carriageway - No Lights, One on an A Road no lights
Crazy people !

Just to point out - Read a few threads on here concerning the little Tescos LED backup lights.

Just for everyones info, when they are mentioned at being £2.66 each and a bargain, thats for a blister pack of them containing TWO lights, one red LED and one white LED.

Didnt realise that myself until I was in there today buying a couple of packs so got a pleasant surprise as I thought £2.66 for one front was pretty good. But for a front and rear, it's pretty much unbeatable. ;)

I was in Tesco today actually and picked up a single front mini LED light for £2.66. Was pleasantly surprised as it is very bright. I got it for the hybrid as my main lights are on my Dawes, but considering getting another one for the Dawes to have it in flashing mode (my main lights don't have a flashing mode). The batteries were flat on mine though, but I have borrowed the ones out of the electronic kitchen scales .

Got a mini pump with gauge for £4.62. It does both Presta and Schrader valves. It is ok, but gets extremely difficult to pump up road tyres. More suited to MTB pressures really. Would get you home I suppose.

Also got some bar ends for £1.33. Don't bother they don't fit on my hybrid handlebars which are a standard size. They'll be going back I think!
EDIT = Ignore the above, I didn't realise you had to take the grips off first (duh!) - Done this and for £1.33 these bar ends are a bargain. They even come with some handle bar caps - they aren't brilliant caps, but they do the job.

The mini LEDs at £2.66 a pair are a bargain - that's cheaper than the batteries!
The bigger sets of LED lights at £10 are pretty good too. Certainly bright enough for urban riding and country lanes IMHO.
It'd be rude not to...

I bought the really teeny LEDs for about £1.60 a pair but not sure how to attach these to me or the bike.I tried to wrap the elastic round a tube but it came off. What do you do? The other stuff (mini LEDs, Cree LED torch) is great though

Your on the right track m8, yeah.

Sit the led light on the top of your bars or wherever you are fitting them, then pull the black elastics down and back up to the front of the bar where the actual led bulb is. Around the bulb is a wee "cut-out" groove that the elastic hooks into to grip and keep in place.

Are those teeny LED really only £1.60? I was in there the other day and they seemed to be the only lights that weren't marked down in price (they were £4).

Well, as I mentioned earlier, my local Tesco had them reduced from £4.00 to £2.66 a pack. This price was for 1 front white LED plus 1 rear red LED.

So £2.66 for two LED's.

Don't know how long that special offer will run for, so I bought 4 packs at the time.

Cheers RSV. I might need to pop back there tomorrow. Maybe the 'reduced' sticker had fallen of the shelf or maybe it's only in certain stores. To be honest, even at £4 they looked pretty good value as a backup. EBC do something similar and want £10.
