I posted a while back about the local Tesco express having one of their crapy stands that was not even fixed to the floor...
Funnily enough the very night after I posted that on here and comments were made on here about its possible relocation, when I passed the next morning the thing had indeed gone....hmmm....
It's taken them a while but this week, a short row of at least reasonably spaced sheffield type stands have been firmly concreted into the ground
I do hope that this is the start of something better from Tesco...I await the redevelopment of the "big" tesco (that has involved the complete removal of ALL designated cycle parking during work) to see..
The odd thing is...I went there tonight (on foot) and there were two bikes outside. One a middle-of-the-road GT (a casual thief's dream) just leant up by the wall, with a 50p cable lock securing the back wheel to the frame (and nothng else), and another similar one, front (Q/R) wheel locked to a bit of railing
