LOL! Pfffft.

If anyone is looking for tesco torch holders for the bike (my twofishblock things just jump around too much)....

These $2.85 (£1.74 with free, but long, postage....2 weeks-ish)

and you get it to swivel around too!

Seems to work ok, though I hook the lanyard around the handlebar just in case!

I have the C size one and found the rattling very annoying , i have some ross rechargeable AA batteries with a plastic converter to C size that dampens it a lot .

Now i only use the torch on the unlit part of my route , maybe 15 minutes atm and use a bog standard light to be seen with in-between.

Will try some shims maybe later when i need it more

Just watch the converters and where the contact's sit - smoked a couple of sets of batteries with a c-cell Tesco - works OK with ordinary batteries, but not AA's and a converter...be careful....

To stop the switch from rattling, I just put some sticky tape over it... sorted. I use Vapex Instant rechargeables and they don't rattle.

Update

The tesco c size torch lasted 2 weeks

today i was checking bike and it was very weak light , checked the batteries etc and found a burning smell coming from the led itself. No apparent melting but a definite whiff .
Took it back and got a replacement that works fine so hopefully just a duff one or i guess i will have to invest another bike light of similar power

Which Tesco torch?

To cure rattly batteries, use a piece of kitchen towel between batteries and Torch internal diameter.

To remove batteries, take off rear end of torch, tip bike up on rear wheel and bounce the bike until the batteries slide out into your hand.

So simple, my twelve year old son thought of this in less than 30 seconds when I first fitted the Tesco 3W 2 x AA torch.

Or use Maplins rechargeables, which will jam in so tightly they'll never come out, let alone rattle.

Nor will they switch off, as the jamming process will expose the live inner layer of the battery, enable a closed circuit even without the endcap and on/off button being on the torch, and eliminating all the pesky switching on and off that one normally has to do.
