I made the mistake of going to Sainsburys early one Saturday morning thinking I'd get round quickly, but couldn't,t move for staff blocking every aisle with trolleys full of home delivery boxes they were filling up .

It's usually the other way round in Tesco over here. Go around 1am ish and there are trolleys everywhere. Come around 5 or 6 and it's nice and quiet, or at least wen I've gone it has been! If you go on a Sat you need to do it before about 9 or 10.

Where I live we recently got a 24hour Tesco, it’s so nice going shopping at silly am without having to queue or fight your way through the aisles

My MiL hates all night opening at Supermarkets.

She used to know when the "short shelf life" items were reduced and used to nip in and buy them.

This no longer happens and her food costs have increased dramatically

Whatever time I go into Morrisons, it always looks like the overspill to God's waiting room...
No just me then? Morrisons is like a retirement village on a weekday, all shuffling round and barely containing their excitement until they can sit in the cafe for another natter. Not so much a supermarket as a community in its own right. As for the car park, dear Lord help us.

I scan read that as barely containing their excrement....I thought, c'mon, I know what you mean, but it's not quite that bad!!^_^
