The site is a little clunky and cumbersome to load, but it's quite good once working. It's pretty hard - I rarely get over 5 or 6/10. But if you know your 'spotted redshank' from your run of the mill 'redshank', it's for you.
5/10... I like to think my answers to Qs 4 and 5 weren't too wide of the mark though! I also knew the Jay wasn't a jay, but didn't know what it was, and I also knew the avocet wasn't an avocet, but took a punt on it being different plumage or summat.
I knew that all those years of keeping a Collins Guide to British Birds in the lavvie would be useful one day!!!!
We'll give you those - close enough ! It's when I put chiffchaff and it turns out to be an Iberian chiffchaff instead that makes me want punch the screen.
Good score 5. The 300 types of identical looking gulls don't help!
I got 7 and should have got 8 but stupildly clicked chaffinch when I meant chiffchaff. TBF, the photo of the Chiffchaff could easily have been a Willow Warbler, as the legs weren't visible.
I haven't tried the quiz because, frankly, I'll be rubbish at it. However, it has reminded me of my favourite stupid answer on the quiz show Family Fortunes:
Presenter: Name a bird with a long neck.
Contestant: Naomi Campbell
