I am not sure if annoys me more that I do not know most of the words (2/7 in first one) or that the world is full of these frigging stupid words that are never used.

I am quite happy calling burnt toast burnt toast. I dont need a new word for that particular condition.
So why do we really need ebullient?
Isn't diffident the same as unconfident?
Why use apogee when Apex is better or simply peak would get the point over in a much simpler way.
Why have such obsure silly words when we dont have words for so many things that would be of more use (turn-off-and-on-able for example)?

Here's another one from the beeb about confusing words:

Looks easy but quite hard to get them all right (Playing Level C, of course!)

That one was easy (10/10)...struggled with some of the words on the first one though....only got 5. Heyho, I'm foreign...

Why am I supposed to know what piece of arse gravy Murdoch came out with to test my word power?
+1

Would have scored 7/7 if I had not had to guess what he might have said.
