Too many to count at the moment.

Lots on my road too - I just ranted on about the general condition of the road, mentioning phrases like "many potholes" etc. I have also in the past mentioned a specific one on a blind bend, which also got fixed, and they do have maps for pinpointing them. Worth a go when you have a spare (ha!) moment (I don't have spare moments either!).

There's a road on my route that's so bad it makes me want to just report it as one 200 metre-long pothole.

I did that repeatedly on a road near me, identifying the worst potholes but commenting that it was high time the whole thing was resurfaced. They seem to let every nitwit with a shovel dig this road about without proper backfilling. After a year or so the Council did get around to resurfacing it, and it is very nice now !

I saw a bloke hunched down beside his bike along a lane last summer and I shouted out to see if he needed help. I didn't catch his answer but he sounded in distress so I stopped a few yards down the road and asked again if he was alright. 'Eff off, I'm taking a dump,' came the reply.

I made myself useful before Christmas tho when I saw a woman wheeling her step-through bike with a basket on my commute. Turned out the LBS who'd fixed a puncture for her hadn't tightened the nuts on her rear wheel enough and it'd come loose a couple of miles down the road. Luckily, I carry a 15mm spanner and was able to help. Feels good when you can help someone out.

Well the good news is for the first time since mid December I have managed to get from home to work, back home, then back to work, home again and work today without (touching wood as I write) a puncture. The pothole I hit which inspired this post actually ended up causing punctures in the front and back wheels. Pot holes reporting today as I finally have them all listed.

Me too! I always stop and offer the loan of my pump/tools etc but frankly I'm not very skilled in bike repair. This is set to change in Feb, I'm booked into a bike maintenance course!
i thought you were going to say you are becoming less friendly or something! HAHA
Cheers Ed

Hello james I'm also from tickenham area and have some very pleasant experiences with cyclists and unpleasant ones with potholes, I was riding around Kingston Seymour when I first got my bike last year and got a puncture and as I began my walk home a lovely chap pulled over on his bike and offered me a inner tube and pump and declined but it's tge thought that counts .
