Grrrrrrrr

why do some of us think it perfectly acceptable to break all the rules on the commute in ?

I was stopped behind the lorry as the gap between it and the chapter 8 barriers ( google it  ) was too small for me to pass. so what did idiot do, yup that correct, he pushed the chapter 8 barriers closer to the works , making it unsafe for all road users, which is a criminal offence, the next classic moce was trying to squeeze past the mirrors on the lorry. guess what happened next. yup, he knocked the mirrors out of the way to get past.

is it any wonder we get so much abuse when tits like this are cycling.

I dunno if they are members here but if you were this person on the Eastway at Leyton mills bridge then you should be ashamed of yourself.

I apologised to the lorry driver on behalf of cyclists.

What an idiot. Not much chance of that HGV driver showing any consideration to cyclists now is there?

Worse still he(the lorry driver) will have repeated the story in truckers cafes up and down the country by now spreading the anti cyclist message even further.

Should have went up to him and folded his ears back with a slap...

Not much chance of the driver seeing any cyclists either with their mirror folded in... just hope they sorted it.

Yes, yes it is.

Count how many drivers are on mobiles, reading books, speeding (and so on) on your next commute.

Or come and stand with me at the big roundabout in Crewe and count how many drive on the pavement to get around the RAB past queueing traffic, how many blindly follow the car ahead through red lights...

And yet there's no widespread hatred of drivers as a group because of those people, despite the greater number of people killed and injured by motor traffic in the UK each year.

(And I agree that the cyclist you describe is a dolt, btw).

oh as a driver i hate seeing idiots on mobile phones. I have lost count of times i have spoken to drivers when i have been sat in traffic and warned them about driving and using a mobile.

which big RAB in crewe. I used to live in Chester and work in Crewe I have a fair idea of which one it is.

That's simply because most people are drivers. Notice that particular subgroups of motorist (the Audi/BMW driver, or WVM, or the minicab driver, or the Sunday driver) do get tagged this way by members of other cults.

I do agree with what you're saying, but I think it's more general than cycling, it's just the usual social in-group/out-group with a soupcon of jealousy ("he can jump the traffic queue and I can't, that's not fair and he shouldn't be allowed to")

You know the one at the top of Crewe Rd, before the station?

The one at the junction of Macom Way, Crewe/Nantwich Road and Weston Road? Yes I have seen that sort of behaviour at that r'bout, not mention road rage coming from there up to the station entrance where the two lanes off the r'bout merge into one before the pedestrian crossing.

It is a pain in the **** to cycle round and I do contemplate using the cycle path and crossing around the edge if I feel it is unsafe to ride through.
