Thank you for letting me know that I have used 60% of my October broadband allowance. Given that this is the 30th day of the month, that is really quite helpful. I will be extra careful for the remaining hours of the month .

You've used more than 6GB of your 10GB in October
Hello,

Just to let you know, you've used over half your broadband allowance so far this month.

What happens if you go over your allowance
We'll charge you £1.50 for an extra 1GB. Then, if you go over that, we'll charge you for another 1GB (and each time you use it up until your allowance resets at the end of the month). We'll automatically add these charges to your bill.

My phone allowance on my mobile used to be from the 3rd of each month so I would check their allowance are for actual calendar months !?

I presume they send out an automatic email when you hit 6gb, whether that is day 1 or day 31,
It seems like a sensible service to me, if you download a couple of large films on friday night you will exceed your limit for the month. i bet they get loads of people moaning when they get extra charges, and this is just covering there behind, you cant say they didnt warn you.

Makes a BIG difference when son is home from uni, only time we ever get warnings. Did include last time he was at home getting an 80% warning, then a 90% one 5 hours later. Fortunately was only a few days before counter reset, but still needed to yell at him a bit.

That's a lot of dancing cats.
And quite a bit of Netflix, Spotify, YouTube and catch up TV.

When my lad exceeded our limit with his Xbox I put a lock on it.

With the BT router there's a setting where you can block individual devices at fixed times.

I've exceeded my 40GB allowance this month.
Never done that before, not sure how I could have either.

I've had two recently both since moving to BT infinity. I phoned to ask why, on the first occasion the guy said useage was normal but there was a huge spike on September 19th - thought about it, checked my online storage, yep that was the day I uploaded all the family photos and video. This month got the warning at 36GB for our 40GB limit. Phoned again and was told average useage had increased - thought about this again and realised my wife had discovered Netflix. I then investigated just how much download streaming uses. That was an eyeopener.

Personally I think it's an example of excellent service from the provider.
