That sinking feeling.

I arrived in work yesterday morning after my usual six mile commute, when I got off my bike I discovered that one of my panniers was missing.

What oh no! What the f***;)

These were new panniers at £60 a set!

One set contains brand new a Night Vision Jacket, Water Proof leggings, Overshoes, Gloves, Small Pump, Toolkit and Puncture Repair Kit, approx £160 worth.

Fortunately it was the other one missing, which contained my work shirt nicks, socks & lunch

All thoughts going through my head, had it been run over by several buses and trucks, would I ever find it?

Anyway ¾ of the way on my track back home to locate the bag, my wife rang me on and told me one of my bags was on the road outside our house, undamaged, what a relief!!!!

I felt like I had lost a £ and found a fiver!!

Needless to say, in future I will always ensure that my panniers are fully secured!

Anyway, three times the distance yesterday morning with very mixed feelings and emotions :ohmy::biggrin:

I chased a fellow down a few months back - his pannier had come off near St Mary's Hospital in Mcr - fortunately he'd stopped and was on the phone looking confused - told him it was just back there and he seemed pretty relieved....

Good to see you got them back

Hope that doesn't happen to me. Both my paners general contain priceless (to me I might add) paperwork that no amount will replace.

Does anyone put contact details in their panniers? I used to paint my name and 'phone number inside the lids of transport cases when I went to wargaming tournaments, as almost everyone has the same transport systems and confusion could sometimes be rife.
