That'll effing hurt in the morning

Are the laws on giveway lines at rbt's different in eastern Europe. Dunfermline has a dual c/w running through it so I did a u'turn at a near by rbt as usual and as normal I dont signal left up the steep d/w and never will. So I go round passed the next entry and effer comes straight out at me, thank goodness I was in the inside marked u'turn lane, so it wasn't a collision but the swerve was enough to put be over on a greasy surface, that hip is going to hurt in the morning :-( his justification was he wasn't over the line, maybe not the centre line but he was over the feicking give way line  his next justification was I never signalled left, I wasn't leaving the rbt
Sorry for the garbled rant but I just had to get that off my chest.

Ouch.

I hope it doesn't hurt that much tomorrow! Remember that ibuprofen Is Your Friend...

... though it's amazing how many people seem to have difficulty with give way lines and roundabouts: I had two cretins do that to me last week. I'd have gone into the side of them if I hadn't been in primary (Thankyou John Franklin).

Thanks,

I definitely agree about the primary it gave me enough room to come down to the tarmac without collision with the car. It doesn't stop everything but give you that important get out room when you do come across a cretin.

Sympathies.

I came off just before home last night as I went to pull in to the side behind a parked car to let another car come through on the narrowing outside the Doctor's surgery on Mill Lane. Braking, turning, rain and wet cobbles don't mix - hit the deck before I could blink. The bike & I parted company and we both skated along the cobbles on our sides for a bit. Thankfully I was going slowly so there was no road rash, just a bruised elbow, backside and knee - and the burly builder-type bloke in the car stopped to check I was OK, which was nice.

I'm always amazed a the behaviour of drivers entering roundabouts that you're cycling round. They seem to wait until you're almost upon them and then they decide they'll pull out on you. Why? They've stopped and waited until that very point, so why the sudden decision to go? Two weeks ago a woman did it to me on the roundabout right outside work - although, to be honest, she never once looked right to check if anything was coming before she decided to pull out. Luckily I'd been wary of her not looking as she waited, so I was ready for the 1st class stupidity. She was bloody lucky I wasn't the bus...

RBTs give me the fear - Isaac almost got orphaned last Bank Hol Monday by some stupid woman in a 4x4 at the Gladsmuir RBT. We were heading from Macmerry to Haddington; she was coming off the A1 side straight over... didn't even look and nearly wiped mummy and daddy out. I shouted at her.

Hope your hip heals up quick.

RBTs - just gotta be on your brakes and ready to take evasive measures at all times I reckon.

Ouch...hope tomorrow doesn't bring too many aches.

Not quite sure what happened, the rant is indeed garbled but that's fair enough

Did the falling off on roundabout thing in Hendaye last summer. Light drizzle, downhill approach but all good. Then there was this shiny green painted cycle lane on the r'bout. Bastards.. just took the front away and over I went. Should have avoided it but there was a car on my left.

What I couldn't understand was that altho' I hit the deck quite hard I wasn't bruised or anything, just road dirt. Sorry Hlab wasn't as 'lucky'.

Next day we set off on the RP and an incident free 720km in the Pyrenees. Dangerous things towns.

Happens repeatedly on a RAB near us. Unfortunately it's on OH's commute. Shame because it's a downhill approach and cambers are such that with the right line you can swoop fast up into the second exit and the following hill..... except you have to be on the brakes the whole time in case some plonker comes from the first exit. I'm going to put the Airzound on her commute bike, although she's probably too polite to use it most times.

my sympathies dude, i have one of those faux roundabouts to get across on my extended commute route. its one of those silly painted white circles. (Google map linky) i'm travelling up warrington road a574 and turning right onto Holcroft lane.
you wouldn't believe the amount of mongs that decide to just shoot through from the other side of warrington road! i mean i understand the chaps from holcroft lane they have right of way over me, but when i'm usually ON the rbt the buggers opposite me go shooting through!
wouldn't mind but i'm always with my luminous yellow wind stopper.
what makes me laugh is i cycle out of birchwood, the roundabout hell of the north west and i NEVER have any issues there. its on all the local car test routes too (evil gits) hehe
