You're not old if you're still working.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone less than 60 is "still young" and anyone between the ages of 60 and 70 is "still quite young".

Back problems aren't much fun - but a neighbour (whose doctor was a 'sports doctor') told me years ago that a gentle bike ride helps to alleviate back pain. I've found that after hours of stacking logs, for example, a non-aggressive 10km ride followed by a hot shower works wonders.

.

Absolutely agree on keeping moving. I had planned on still 'riding' this weekend. Just maybe not long enough to get a 50km ride in. So interesting to hear that confirmed !

Yea - touch wood i'm 53 and still feel sub-40 most of the time. And literally don't 'do' illness or injury. Thankfully my back isn't serious. Just annoying enough to effect.....

I hope that your back eases up. Back problems are never good, and can be complete showstoppers!

If by 'not doing' illness/injury you mean not letting them stop you doing things, then you must have been lucky enough not to have badly injured or ill! A broken collarbone stopped me dead in my tracks, and blood clots in my lungs literally almost stopped me dead, full stop!

I am 69 years old, but honestly, I don't feel 1 day over 70!

I just meant I’m literally never ill. Don’t really get colds. And I think I’ve had one solitary day off sick in my current job of nearly 20 years. I seem to shun illness better than most. And no I’ve never had a serious illness / bone breakage etc

Thanks for my back concerns. Here’s hoping the weekend see’s a continued improvement 😁

Have a good one yourself Colin 👌

Thanks.

I got a good hilly ride in today (just shy of 66 km with just over 1,300 m of ascent). I was still feeling some fatigue from Wednesday's ride (115 km and nearly 1,500 m of ascent) so that was as much as I wanted to do!

I will probably just ride for an hour or so a day Sat, Sun and Mon because (a) I need some recovery time, and (b) I will be socialising.
