Really enjoyable un-ridden route with a friend. Known as “The Island” as someone on Strava has already commented.

Not as quick as I’d liked (Riding buddy with knee issues) - but FAR more enjoyable and productive than nothing !

All relevant ! Others here would be sniggering / scoffing at both of us 😉

Monthly round up and last weekend warning . We have 19 riders fully posted up ,2 riders declared but challenge thread yet to be updated ,leaving 2 riders yet to declare so a gentle nudge for @Spartak and @PaulSB . The nudge list doesn't seem complete without a mention of @bruce1530 as he's normally tail end Charlie but this month he's found his mojo 😁 and completed multiple rides this month 👍
Well done everyone

yeah - mojo seems to be coming back slowly - 3 qualifying rides this month, and a few shorter ones, mainly "round the town and up the hill to the farm..."

I'm still well short of my fitness level before I was unwell, what was previously a 2 hr 30 ride is now closer to 3 hours, and I've been avoiding serious hills. But I've signed up for the Chris Hoy "Tour De 4" ride next weekend, raising money and awareness for Prostate Cancer. It's 90k with a big hill in the middle. Further than I've done since I was unwell, but looking forward to it.

Good luck , remember if there's a big up there's a big down wheeeeee . By the way can you do an extra 10km to round up to 100 and another point 🤣

Already thought about the extra 10k, initial plan had been to get train in, so the trip from home to station then station to start would make up the distance. But since no trains on Sunday, I’ll be driving in, park at the office then 3.5 k ride to start. So I need to find an extra 3k 😀

Another EMTB ride today, this time from Reeth Cycle Hub around one of their Dales routes. It was deffo a mountain bike route....steep, almost impossible on some of it and some real knarly, cliff edge, sloppy stuff. 31.5 miles and totally whacked...and wet. Could not have dreamt of doing it on manual bike.
Zoom in on the surface on picture 1.... oh boy.

August ... ✅

In Belgium for work, so rode from Brussel-Zuid to my hotel south of Mechelen yesterday.

Komoot had plotted me a route out of Brussels which worked well and headed towards Zaventum then north to my hotel in Elewijt where I dropped off my bikepacking luggage and did a loop of Zemst, Leest and Mechelen.

4.30 Alarm Clock saw (Or not: as dark as it was outside 🤣) me setting off shortly after in order to get my September started…….

**I wish it was a bit lighter 😆

Out of Suffolk, and into Norfolk I ventured (Gorleston Seafront):

Over the river to Gt Yarmouth:

Where I peddled right up the seafront;

And all the way to Caister-on-Sea - and one on the many Holiday Camps along this Coast.

Inland journey home - and a few record times / PB’s set 👌

Up early (for me) to lead the charge into September only to discover @sevenfourate had posted a completed ride 5 mins before I got out of bed ,Well done that man first poster for September 👍👏👏. Anyway I'm up and running with my standard Upton Loop banker ride . Last month was a big mileage month just shy of 900 miles for the month all training for a charity ride on Saturday in aid of my local hospice . An imperial ton circular route around Leicestershire. The distance is not something that concerns me so I'm trying to ride it as fast as I can . Most of my longer rides are solo so I will be trying to find a group to pull me round quicker than a solo effort

Apologies for stealing your thunder by just scraping home first 😉

*I’m on Holiday. And we had tradespeople arriving early - not that it’s ever a chore to get out at daybreak.

Grats on your Sept ride today…..and the very best of luck for Sat. Go smash it ! 💪
