It is 13 years since I had a post ride sports nutrition drink 🍺!

(The problem was that they were always followed by 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺...)

As for ride report posting style... I have changed mine to something resembling the more typical style, but I will usually just make one post summarising each month's qualifying rides. I have gone back to the start of the year and edited all of my posts so far. I am not going to bother doing the same for previous years though so don't ask !

I'm a bit late joining in, having only recently got back on the road bike after a number of years off. Past month I've been building myself back up to achieving some decent (to me) ride outs, and Sunday, after being made aware of this challenge, I clocked my longest ride in years at 32.32 miles 😁
Although I can't qualify for a star this year, I still aim to join in to help motivate myself and maybe others, who knows. 👍

In the rides thread, that is.

I will mention my first qualifying ride of each month in this thread, and may also mention others if there is something to say about them. Got savaged by a dog, my fastest 50 km ride ever, I met Pog on a training ride... that kind of thing. (More likely to be: Was yapped at by a Jack Russell, my slowest 50 km ride ever, didn't see another rider all day!)

Managed to replicate my June qualifying ride, this morning. Somehow avoided this lot threatening to drop. ^_^

I didn't avoid it near me...I got to about 3 miles from home with 22 done and was just deciding which additional loop to take to make the distance when the heavens opened. It was also very windy and my seatpost had developed an irritating creak....I bailed out and came home for only 25miles. Needless to say when I rode up the drive the sun started shining again....for 10 mins☹️

Irritating creak got worse today...despite tightening everything I could tighten. I took my saddle off when I got back and I seem to have broken the adjustment bolt. New diet ..starts Monday...ISH 😂

Well, that was today!

I am currently in Devon and the lumpy lanes near Crediton were calling me... I got just over 50 km in, with just over 750 metres of ascent, in just under 3 hours.

I was very lucky with the weather - there were sunny intervals while I was out, black clouds were forming in the last couple of km, but there was no rain until I had got back and put my bike away!

After the best March, April and May I can remember, I’m now into the second weekend in June wonder whether I’ll get this months 50 km/mile and 100km challenge rides done! Today is a washout and tomorrow is pencilled in for family. There’s always next weekend I suppose.

Same here.

I think the most important thing is not to panic.

I'm also behind on my Lunacy Distance challenge: annual (not monthly) .. but I'd prefer not to be under pressure.

As the weather here should improve next week, the temperature is set to soar to over 30C - and the older I get, the more debilitating I find the heat.

A reminder of a couple of things @13 rider has said ... it's "only an internet challenge" and "it's supposed to be fun".

There are days when I'd really like to stop worrying about trying to keep up with three Distance challenges this year and just re-discover the simple joy of just cycling.

Good luck @geocycle !
