Am I last again??

Squeezed in a ride this morning. From Saltcoats followed the NCN73 to Kilwinning, then farm roads to skirt round Irvine. Back onto the NCN73 and followed the old railway path until it abruptly ends as you enter Kilmarnock. Another couple of miles to Dean Castle country park, and a nice coffee and cake.

Back by roughly the same route, different route around Irvine, took a "short cut" through Eglinton Park, using a path that was much muddier than I remembered

51k.
Yes last but not least

You my have noticed I have slight obsession with rounding numbers up to nice figures so after yesterday's ride was added to my monthly total it made it 669 miles . So today plan was to be up early do 31 and the important bit miles to pass 700 . Getting up early failed by the time I thought about getting ready it was already stupidly hot . Waited until 1845 as it began to cool and got it done 😁. The question now tomorrow being the 1st do I go 3 days in a row ?

Answer to the above yes of course I would do 3 half centuries in a row with today being the 1st 👍. Up early this morning to beat the heat and anyone else thinking of being the first poster 🤣. Nice to be back and all posted up before the 2nd poster had even started . I think that's possible the shortest break between rides with last nights finishing at 8.45pm and this morning starting at 7.15am
Well done to the other 3 riders getting off to a flying start for July

I did wake up on Monday at around 4.15 a.m. and, genuinely, gave serious consideration to getting a ride in to beat the heat (and hopefully be the first to post), but I'd had a fitful night's sleep and thought that I wanted to get some enjoyment out of the ride, instead of the slog I envisaged it to be.
So, out this morning, just the odd spit and spot of rain towards the end and had loads of fun. Kudus to anyone out cycling any sort of distance yesterday here in Britain - I did a short bimble to get eggs and nearly melted.

Great day on the bike today.
Early start to catch the 0800 Dover - Dunkirk ferry.
Headed to hotel in Lille, dropped bags off then did some exploring.
Visited the TdF fan zone before heading out to the famous velodrome in Roubaix, as the Tour is visiting Continental had a promotional day there so initially the 'security guard' said no entry, but after saying we'd travelled from the UK he allowed us to ride a lap.
We then continued east for a flying visit into Wallonia for a quick beer before heading back to Lille along some fantastic cycle lanes.

Drove to Scarborough to do the Cinder Track to Whitby and back. Great day out. Coastal breeze and lots of shaded areas meant it was not too hot. The surface is about as rough as I would want to ride on my Revolt in a few places..especially at speed downhill. My Gravel King semi slicks did brilliantly and we even got to play Samaritan by supply/fitting snap link to another rider with a broken chain and long walk.
